TWiP: Telling Stories

This Week in Pictures, Week 7, 2019

This week I decided it would be fun to add Instagram Stories to my TWiP posts. It was a bit of a technical challenge, but that’s just the kind of thing I enjoy, and I managed to figure out a way to do it without pulling out too much of my hair 😁

I don’t plan to include every Instagram story I ever post, especially the super random ones, but I think the ones that tell actual stories about how I spent my day are rather appropriate for this TWiP series. So, starting this week, on days where I’ve posted a series of stories, you’ll see them compiled together into a single short video for the day. I hope you find them enjoyable!

I have seen some people do Stories so well that they make me want to crawl right into their feeds. I’m nowhere near that yet, but I do like the idea of improving my Stories game, and hopefully sharing them to a wider audience like this will inspire me.

So, what is This Week in Pictures?

It’s a roundup of the microblogging I’ve done on Instagram all week. This includes photos I shot for Project 365 and any other extra images I may have posted.

Photos taken with 📷 (Canon EOS 80D) or 📱 (Samsung Galaxy S7).

Ready? Cast your mind back to this time last week…

Saturday

My niece is more than 3 months old, and my parents’ cat is still curious about her, but he keeps his distance.

Sunday

Folding my socks and putting on hand cream, while hanging out in front of the TV in my pajamas. It’s a rip roaring Sunday night.

Monday

I haven’t knit for at least a week. My enthusiasm for making this a crazy long scarf is waning. Maybe I’ll settle for kinda longish 🙂

The local school district has declared a snow day, and so have I. Though, as an adult in technology, “snow day” doesn’t mean “day off.” It means “work, but at home, and in my pajamas if I want to.”

There are perks to working from home in any season. During the warmer months I love the ability to sit near an open window. But at this time of year? It’s all about the cozy atmosphere: fairy lights, scented candle, warm drink, and my favorite blanket ♥

I seem to have developed a bit of a crush on these Colourpop liquid lipsticks…

This is what happens when neither one of you remembers how to use the heart-shaped pancake molds…

Think we have enough crochet blankets in here? 😁 This isn’t all of them, either. This is mine on the couch, Neil’s on the floor, and Aidan’s on the chair. Eamonn’s is upstairs on his bed. I love that he sleeps with it, but I hate that it makes my downstairs collection incomplete 🤣

Friday

I took a personal day off from work today. Neil just left for the day, and I’m deciding which of the items to tackle from my to-do list first. I’m also considering the idea of scrapping the to-do list, sitting in this chair all day, sipping peanut butter cup coffee, and playing with my website. We’ll see…

So, I took down the Christmas decorations in the living room today, FINALLY. Don’t ask me about the rest of the house, though… ;-P
