Polka Dot Cottage polymer clay jewelry is bright and colorful! I like to make pieces I would wear myself. I like earrings that look great with a casual handknit sweater and jeans. And bracelets that jangle alongside a swingy black linen dress.
Depending on the colors and patterns you choose, you can be bold and colorful in polymer clay jewelry, or you can be understated and classy. Wear a dark green bangle while giving a presentation to the suits in the boardroom, and switch to granny square earrings for your after-work visit to the yarn shop!
Polymer clay is strong and durable. I have built up a large library of signature polymer clay patterns and colors that I use in each piece. The work is then cured until hard. Once the clay is hardened, I vigorously wet sand each piece through several grits of sandpaper until smooth. I then buff it on a buffing wheel until it shines. I use no sealers or paints. The color is present in the polymer clay itself, and the shine, unless otherwise noted, is the result of good old fashioned elbow grease.
