Polymer Clay

The day I realized I could make my own jewelry with nothing more than a few bars of polymer clay, a handful of simple supplies I found around the house, and a toaster oven, I was hooked. I had only a small plastic roller and a utility knife for the first few months, but it was enough!

If you don’t have all of the fancy tools and recommended supplies, you can still get your feet wet in polymer clay. I designed Polka Dot Cottage Hearts and Beginner Button Class for complete beginners. You don’t need any prior experience or specialized equipment to do these projects.

My own favorite technique is millefiori. That’s what you’ll find in the majority of the Polka Dot Cottage polymer clay tutorials. For these, you will need to know a bit about millefiori basics. Additionally, a pasta machine dedicated to craft use would make your life a lot easier. Each tutorial lists the required tools, so you know before you buy.
