TWiP: Weekends are not for Sitting at the Computer
Uh oh, slipping into old habits here, as I publish Saturday’s post on a Thursday 😬
Bleh. I think I just need to accept this about myself: I do not want to turn on my computer on the weekends!
Weekends are for visiting! And going for long drives! And breathing fresh air! And sitting on the bed watching mysteries and knitting! If weekends were 3 days long, I’d totally give part of one of those days over to this blog. But weekends are only rarely 3 days long. That’s kind of a shame, really.
It’s a roundup of the little (and big!) moments I have captured all week. Some of these images are posted on Instagram, but many aren’t posted anywhere but here. Some days there may be no photos, and other days there may be multiples.

Hi Lisa! I really love the story about your great-grandma’s vintage crochet blanket…did you recreate the blanket instructions and, if so, are they available?
I’m sure she would have been surprised to see the wonderful ways you’re able to share her beautiful work with so many others! 🙂 Thanks in advance for your help with my question!
Hi, Vikki! I do not, unfortunately, have those instructions written out anywhere, since I really didn’t do much other than re-seam the squares into a more blankety shape. I did make myself a neckwarmer inspired by that blanket, though, and I put the details of that here: https://www.lisaclarke.net/2019/02/14/vintage-inspired-granny-square-scarf/ I didn’t provide full-blown instructions, but maybe there’s enough there for you to go on?
I think you’re right that my great grandmother would be surprised to see that I’ve put her design on the outside of mugs, made fabric out of it, and even am currently using it as my phone case! That’s not something that would have occurred to anyone sixty years ago. Isn’t technology great? 🙂
Lessons Learned with Expired Film (2023) I have developed a new obsession, and I have three rolls of film in various stages of completion in three old SLR film cameras to prove it. I just got back a roll of photos that I took last week, and let's just say I have a lot to learn still. Come see what I've done. (I hope you like light leaks.)
TWiP: Hexies (2020) I've been spending every spare moment this week sewing masks. But this post isn't about this week. This post is about last week. And last week wasn't so dominated by sewing. It was dominated by a crochet project I undertook for my bedroom.
