TWiP: Hexies

This Week in Pictures, Week 18, 2020

Oh, I had such good intentions. I planned to post this update on time on Saturday. Or at least close to on time on Sunday. But time has gotten away from me. Again!

I’ve been spending every spare moment this week sewing masks. But this post isn’t about this week. This post is about last week. And last week wasn’t so dominated by sewing. It was dominated by a crochet project I undertook for my bedroom.

I’m really happy with the way the hexagon table mat came out. I actually have a lot to say about this little mat, so I hope that I can convince myself to take a break from the sewing sometime soon and write up a post dedicated to this crochet doo-dad.

Also last week: the completion of the Handmade Film Making class I began the previous week, and the beginning of Picture Home. I’ve really been jumping into the photography projects lately. It’s probably because I am home so much now. Home is so much more inspiring to me, photo-wise, than the office is. It’s good to be here.

So, what is This Week in Pictures?

It’s a roundup of the microblogging I’ve done on Flickr and Instagram all week. This includes photos I shot for Project 365 and any other extra images I may have posted.

Photos taken with πŸ“· (Canon EOS 80D) or πŸ“± (Samsung Galaxy S9).

Ready? Cast your mind back to Saturday last week…

I love the light coming in the bedroom window in the evenings at this time of year.

Day Five: procuring weekend bagels is a very different experience than it was a few months ago. Also, thanks to my sister in law for the toilet paper 😁(View original Handmade Film Making post on IGTV.)

This isn’t where I was intending to put this little project I just finished, but actually, I like it a lot here. I think it’s staying.

The last of my week of Handmade Films. Work was fairly demanding, so I didn’t have a lot of time for setting up shots, but I did what I could 🍎 This was a fun experience. I plan to make more of these when I can 😁(View original Handmade Film Making post on IGTV.)

So, it seems I have started matching the pin colors to the fabric. Gotta keep myself entertained somehow!

It occurs to me that as long as I still have enough to donate to my local causes, and enough to share with my family, and I still feel like sewing a small batch here and there, why shouldn’t I put a few in the shop? So that’s what I’ve done. I don’t want to turn this into a complicated process, so I’ve kept the price low, and made it a grab-bag style. You tell me what kind of fabric pattern you like, and I will do my best to pick a mask from my stock that I think you’ll like. πŸ’šπŸ’—
