TWiP: The Cusp of Spring

This Week in Pictures, Week 10, 2022

Crocuses and snow in the same week. That sounds about right.

So, what is This Week in Pictures?

It’s a roundup of the little (and big!) moments I have captured all week. Some of these images are posted on Instagram, but many aren’t posted anywhere but here. Some days there may be no photos, and other days there may be multiples.

Photos taken with 📷 (Canon EOS 80D) or 📱 (Samsung Galaxy S9).

Saturday

When you’re visiting your mom, and you set down your phone on a nearby blanket, and they match (that happens to everybody, right?)

Sunday

Grateful for such a pleasant Sunday afternoon! I took a walk earlier, and now I’m watching Britbox and working on my Porthole Pullover next to an open window. Every now and then a lovely breeze blows by 💚

Wearing all of the green today because green is my jam: my favorite me-made ring, my Meredith Winn block printed tee, my watch strap, and my sweater. My reading glasses and my socks are also green today, because of course they are 💚😁
Also posted on Instagram

Monday

The first crocus appears!

Wednesday

And it’s snowing.
I feel like this photo is a perfect example of the fickle nature of March.

Thursday

I shuffle through a selection of different backgrounds on my monitors, and right now they have managed to all be of various places that I have enjoyed a cup of coffee ☕
I knit six Ballband Dishcloths for my kitchen a decade ago when that pattern was all the rage, and they’re starting to show their wear. Two of them are actually falling apart. So, I thought I would make a few new ones, so I can retire the old dears, this time in crochet, because I kinda need a break from knitting right now.
I got myself a book and some Dishie cotton yarn from Knitpicks, and once I pick a pattern (or two) I’ll be good to go 😁. There are three patterns in this book that I think are very much in the spirit of the original design, but I haven’t decided if I am going to crochet one of those, or go in a completely different direction. Maybe I will do both 😁

Friday

And the verdict is: going in a completely different direction. I took the day off, too, so I’ll have plenty of time for crocheting and watching movies on the bed, if that’s what I choose to do.

Thanks for helping me celebrate the week! If you want to see some of this stuff as it happens, please feel free to follow me on Instagram ♥

  1. WHERE did you get the granny patterned phone cover?? I am a crocheter and this is perfect. The pattern would also be easy to spot in purse, on table, in crochet project bag. Please help. Thanks and crochet on. 🧶🧶🧶

    1. Hi, Rosemary, sorry it took me a while to reply! I needed to look up the link, and then I forgot!

I designed the phone case myself, based on the blanket in the photo. You can get one on Zazzle: https://www.zazzle.com/z/d6b8jrnb?rf=238743324866195468 You can scroll down on the page, and it allows you to transfer the design to other cases that might work better for you, if you don’t have an iPhone or an older Samsung

  2. Great pictures!!!

    1. Thank you 🙂
