[NOTE: I promise I wrote and scheduled this post on Saturday. Here it is Thursday, now and I’m just noticing it never published! That’s weird. Sorry about the delay!]
Some weeks I am so preoccupied with other things, it’s impressive that I even remembered to take a daily photo at all, let alone make it interesting or unique in some way…
I started a knitting project, which might have made for nice blog fodder, except for the fact that I only worked on it sporadically. No, I was more interested in a personal project that involves a spreadsheet of MyFitnessPal data and Google Data Studio. I’ve been working on a visual way to represent my nutrition and fitness goals (and how well I am [or am not] meeting them). I learned GDS for my day job, but it is perfect for this personal application, too. I just can’t seem to stop fiddling with it, though. Every time I look at it, I think, “well, this might look better as a pie chart.” Or, “I wonder if this should be summed up, or if averages are more effective?” You know, stuff like that. I shouldn’t be surprised, really. I do the same thing sometimes with reports I make for work, though it’s to a much lesser extent.
I have spent hours of my free time on this thing this week. They haven’t been particularly photogenic hours, either, and it’s kind of a miracle that I even remembered to snap a picture here and there throughout the week. When I get obsessed with something on the computer, it is often to the exclusion of all other recreational pursuits. It’s in my creative life’s best interest for me to finalize my tweaks on this fitness report ASAP.
Besides, I’m putting in more effort on the report than I am on the actual fitness and nutrition, you can be sure 😜
So, what is This Week in Pictures?
It’s a roundup of the microblogging I’ve done on Flickr and Instagram all week. This includes photos I shot for Project 365 and any other extra images I may have posted.
Photos taken with 📷 (Canon EOS 80D) or 📱 (Samsung Galaxy S7).
Ready? Cast your mind back to this time last week…
Saturday

Another Saturday morning at work, banking some time off to use in the summer. It’s a beautiful day.
Sunday

Brrr! It’s a chilly morning to be making coffee outside, but I’ve got my older son for company and conversation, so it’s not so bad.

Monday

I’m trying to get into the habit of walking a few times a week. So far so good.
Tuesday

The coffee-smell-hating husband is out for the evening, so the 19yo and I are enjoying a rare little decaf for two in front of the TV.
Wednesday

The part of my brain that can’t seem to stop fiddling when I make changes to my website design is apparently the same part of my brain that engages when I create reports for my day job in Google Data Studio. Man, I love this software. I can’t stop playing with these beautiful interactive reports!
Thursday

This has been such a beautiful day for lunch hour road tripping that I don’t really even mind being behind the guy who was consistently 20 mph below the speed limit.
Friday

It is considerably colder today than it was yesterday. Nevertheless, I attempted to flip through my new magazine outside. I made it through one article before I gave up and went inside to get warm. Oh well!
Thanks for taking a peek at this week’s photos! If you want to see this stuff as it happens, please feel free to follow me on Flickr or Instagram ♥
