I think maybe the first day back to school/work/etc after a week off, is the perfect time to start doing the taxes.
Having the family around for spring break, not being tied down to a schedule, enjoying the freedom of spontaneous plan-making… it’s all good. But I’d be lying if I said I didn’t relish the opportunity to spend a few hours totally alone, with nothing but the sound of the keyboard clacking under my fingers for company.
Sometimes I feel the need for a solo vacation after the family vacation.
So here it is, Monday morning, and while I kind of miss everyone, I also kind of don’t. I am ready to spend the day in my dumpy clothes, sipping coffee and plugging numbers into spreadsheets. It’s oddly relaxing.
Have a nice week! If you need me, I’ll be over in the introvert section, enjoying a little math in my pj’s.
I feel exactly the same way – after a week or two with folks home I tend to enjoy the first few “quiet” days back! I’m going to miss it this time because I go right back to teaching two afternoons a week when we get back.
I get a week off at the end of May because I have shows out of town, two weekends in a row so I’m just going to stay in the city in between. And I have a week this summer where I’ll be taking a Christi Friesen class (near me even!)
Clearly, we introverts “get” each other 🙂
