It’s been another artistic week, while my adventures with the Earring of the Day project and Picture Elements continue.
It’s a roundup of the little (and big!) moments I have captured all week. Some of these images are posted on Instagram , but many aren’t posted anywhere but here. Some days there may be no photos, and other days there may be multiples.

Saturday Aug 6 All Boxed Up : My bedroom furnitureI dropped by the library to pick up a few reserved titles. Still wearing my mask every time I am indoors among strangers. Wish more people were still doing that. Sunday I spent my entire day reading this book, Rebel with a Clause by Ellen Jovin , from cover to cover. I expected to like it, but I did not expect to want to dedicate a whole lazy Sunday to it! It was a pleasant surprise, and I learned something, too. I finally know when to use who
and when to use whom
. There is not a lot that trips me up in the grammar world, but that always has. Aug 7 Holding Space : I’ve been in a creative frenzy lately, and I get pretty messy when that happens. It had gotten to the point where my work space was about the size of a postage stamp 🙄. So I cleaned up. And now, with all of the empty space around them, these blocks of clay have more impact, and my future color choices will no longer be influenced by any of the clutter nearby.Monday Aug 8 Semicircled View : Another delicious Monday night 😋Tuesday Here’s a sneak peek at some earrings that will be featured as Earrings of the Day sometime next week. It’s unusual for me to look for inspiration outside of the polymer world, but I did just that yesterday, and made these earrings. The cascading blobs of color were inspired by the similar (though more energetic) blobs of color in Angie the Rose ‘s work, which I first saw in UPPERCASE magazine . Aug 9 In Living Color : It’s been brutally hot lately in NJ, and the lack of rain means that everything in my yard is brown and crispy. But if anywhere is going to have some moisture and vibrancy during a drought, a swamp is. After work, I went to a part of the Great Swamp that I don’t usually visit. I was looking for some big pink flowers to focus on and zoom into, and while I did find them, I liked this wide angle view better. Blue! and Green! and tiny specs of pink where those flowers are 💙💚Wednesday Aug 10 Textures in Tandem : So much texture here, in one little vase: each individual stone has its own smoothness, or lack thereof; the stones as a whole provide a texture to the contents of the vase; and the antique glass vase itself has a pattern of raised polka dots on it.Thursday Aug 11 Stranded : Fringe = about a million strands working togetherFriday I really feel like I have begun to hit my stride with this earring project. I am thrilled with the designs I made tonight, and I can’t wait to show them to you! Aug 12 Color Value in Bloom : Evening light in the hallwayThanks for helping me celebrate the week! If you want to see some of this stuff as it happens, please feel free to follow me on Instagram ♥
