Weekend Favorites

What a gorgeous morning it is here in New Jersey! I’m sitting here enjoying some leftover Wineberry Crisp for breakfast. I’ve got all of the windows open, and a lovely breeze is flowing through. I wasn’t going to post Weekend Favorites today – I usually write it on Thursday nights, and I hadn’t gotten around to it last night – but this morning just feels like a “sitting on the bed sipping coffee, listening to the cicadas, and blogging” kind of morning.

Here are a few interesting things from around the web that grabbed me this week:

• Loom knit scarf of many colors – made by naneliz2, via Ravelry. This is one beautiful cowl! Even I, who is (who am?) always saying the knitting looms can produce work as lovely as needles, am super impressed by this. What an intriguing stitch pattern, and the yarn is just perfect.
• felted sweater blanket – an upcycling project from r e c o v e r g i r l. This wool sweater blanket is so beautiful and colorful, and I bet it’s very warm as well.
• Kitchen Dyeing – an experiment shared by Cozy Things. I love the idea of dying yarn with flowers and other things found in nature. I have yet to try it, but Kristen did, and she shared her results here.
