TWiP: Close to Home

This Week in Pictures, Week 33, 2021

Unlike Week 33s past, the 2021 Week 33 did not involve any beachy day trips, weekend getaways, or intercontinental travel. I barely left the house. On the plus side, I did manage to procure a bouquet of zinnias, which inspired some photo play and kept me plenty entertained.

TWiP: Window Box Chicken

This Week in Pictures, Week 31, 2021

I don’t know how the time manages to pass so quickly, but it always does. It’s August already. I feel like the summer just started, and yet we’re only a few short weeks away from pumpkin latte season. I’m starting to feel a little desperate to make sure I’ve availed myself of enough summer joy while it’s still here.

TWiP: Instant Gratification

This Week in Pictures, Week 30, 2021

It’s been a little over two years since I bought my first instant camera, and in that time, I’ve taken a few photos that I love, and a whole lot of photos that are kind of terrible. I don’t know what keeps me plunking down my hard-earned cash on yet another pack of film, or worse, a whole new camera to love/hate, but here we are. As of this week, I’ve got four instant cameras and two and a half photo albums full of evidence of my misadventures. I do think, though, that I may have finally turned a corner with my latest purchase…

TWiP: Pink Hair and Pure Air

This Week in Pictures, Week 27, 2021

I gotta admit, the pink hair is getting old. I was having fun with it at the beginning of the week, but purples and pinks are so not my usual colors. My hair clashes with most of my clothes! I’m looking forward to the next color, which is red. But I don’t want to proceed with that until enough of the purply pink has washed out, or it will just end up impacting the redness of the red, you know?

Such a first world problem 😀

BTW, I mention Molekule Air Purifiers in my pink hair photo. I got myself one to put on my desk when I went back to the office, and though I haven’t actually gone back there yet, I’ve been using it in my bedroom for now. I’m happy with it. If you’re looking for such a thing yourself, this link will give you $50 off, and (full disclosure) I’ll get an Amazon gift card, too, if you buy one.

No pressure, of course. Just putting this out there, in case you are in the market for one. It is supposed to be one of the very few that are able to deal with coronaviruses in the air, and knowing that has given me a bit more peace of mind about venturing back to the office, when I eventually do.

If I find myself traveling any time soon, you can bet this will be coming with me to my hotel room, too. Or if I entertain indoors, I’m probably only inviting vaccinated people, but even so, I’ll still be putting this purifier in the room with us 🌬

So, what is This Week in Pictures?

It’s a roundup of the little (and big!) moments I have captured all week. Some of these images are posted on Instagram, but many aren’t posted anywhere but here. Some days there may be no photos, and other days there may be multiples. It’s more laid back than the Project 365s of previous years. You can learn more here 🙂

Photos taken with 📷 (Canon EOS 80D) or 📱 (Samsung Galaxy S9).

TWiP Clips

Here’s a very short video, featuring 1.5-second moments from the week:

Sunday

Usual breakfast effort: Remove cereal bar from box, remove wrapper from cereal bar.
Today’s breakfast effort: Warm and Nutty Cinnamon Quinoa (recipe from Heidi Swanson’s blog, 101 Cookbooks)
Ooh, I drove 30 minutes to find polymer clay today. They didn’t have a lot, but they did have this new color of Premo that I’ve been wanting to play with.

Monday

It’s back to the office tomorrow. No more rolling out of bed 15 minutes before work and starting my job on the living room couch in my PJs. That’s all over. I am going to miss the work-from-home life. *sigh* My summer of rainbow hair continues, despite this setback, and my magenta streak and I will be sitting at our desk (along with our new friend the Molekule air purifier) by 7:30 tomorrow morning.

UPDATE: back-to-the-office day has been postponed. Woo hoo! 😁

Wednesday

Guess who is still working from home? 🙋🏻‍♀️ My coworkers and I got an 11th hour reprieve. That sneaky Delta variant is making the powers that be nervous. As well it should. I’m not going to cheer on the virus because I’m not a sociopath, but I *am* going to appreciate the extra time it has bought me in my comfy home office 🏡
A wineberry vine has somehow gotten tangled up in our azalea. Also, it smells kind of like skunk over here. I wonder if we could have skunks living under the bush. I think I will be picking berries from the other side of the yard, thankyouverymuch.

Thursday

Can confirm that #wineberryseason has begun in my neighborhood, but just a teeny tiny bit 😁

Friday

I’m thinking of getting a hair cut – my first in a year and a half! I still am enjoying it long, so I won’t cut much, but before I make an appointment, I want to document just how long it got. This dirty mirror selfie is not working particularly well for me, so I think I will need to ask one of my family members to just take a picture of the back of my head 😆

Thanks for helping me celebrate the week! If you want to see this stuff as it happens, please feel free to follow me on Instagram ♥
