It looks like fall outside this morning. The leaves are starting to turn, and it may rain at any moment. I’ve nursed my morning coffee for so long, it’s gone cold. Instead of my usual breakfast bar, today I treated myself to a couple of pumpkin biscotti, and have been eating them in bed while I listen to a shuffled mix of all of my Fall playlists and work on this post.
It’s been so pleasant, I hate to finish up, to be honest. Neil and Aidan are out of town until tomorrow, so it’s just me and Eamonn here. He made a brief appearance in my room to say hello this morning, after I made him some iced coffee, but he’s since gone back to what he was doing, and I’ve been playing my music more loudly than I do when we have a full house.
After months of contemplating a new polymer clay earring design, I have finally cleared off a space to work and gotten started playing with it. It’s a pretty simple design, but I hit a snag with my prototype yesterday. It seems one of my supplies is over the hill and no longer works as advertised. I’ll need to get a replacement today, but after that I should be back in business.
I predict an afternoon of loud Autumnal music and creativity 🙂
So, what is This Week in Pictures?
It’s a roundup of the photos I shot for Project 365 (one image each day for all of 2016), plus some snapshots I posted on Instagram during the previous week.

Ready? Cast your mind back to this time last week…
Saturday
365 📷: 2016 275/366 – I’m enjoying these cozy, rainy days lately. Today was so pleasant. I saw more of my kids than I usually do on the weekends – my teenagers spend a lot of time working on their own projects behind closed doors these days – and I worked on a few squircles for this blanket that has been 18 months in the making. I love this colorful afghan, but I’m in no rush to finish.
Sunday
365 📷: 2016 276/366 – Sunday mornings are usually a great excuse for me to loll around in bed, but I’ve had my feet up so much since last week, I couldn’t stand the idea of breakfasting in my room. So I hit Starbucks with one of my kids, and then we did a quick food shopping trip together, and once we were home, I spent an hour outside, enjoying the crisp Fall air. Any day that I get to slip on my shiny black shoes and one of my newly-knit sweaters is a good day in my book.
Monday
365 📷: 2016 277/366 – I was without a car today. My desire to leave the house is always strongest when I know that I can’t.
Tuesday
365 📷: 2016 278/366 – I put on my Fall apron, and I looked like I meant business, but really I just threw some chicken in a skillet and did the easy stuff I usually do.
Wednesday
365 📷: 2016 279/366 – I have watched so much melodramatic, TV today, you have no idea. Thank goodness for Roku and Acorn.TV, or I might have been tempted to spend my sick day buying shoes on my tablet. I’m in the mood for a new pair of Danskos that I do not need. Must resist. Also, must feel better. I’m determined to be rid of the worst of this cold tomorrow. It came on super fast, it can leave super fast, too, right?
Thursday
365 📷: 2016 280/366 – Neil just gave me this book. Little does he know I am more likely to sleep with it under my pillow than I am to read it. #handsomeauthorpictureonthebackcover 😆
Friday
365 📷: 2016 281/366 – Neil and Aidan left for DC this morning, but not before we’d had an embarrasing little conversation about yesterday’s Project 365 photo, and my handful of hollywood crushes. Neil suggested I plug myself in to the TV and have a #handsomeleadingman weekend while he’s gone. Well, if he insists, who am I to argue? The only dillema: what to watch first!
Thanks for taking a peek at this week’s photos! If you want to see this stuff as it happens, please feel free to follow me on Flickr and/or Instagram.
I may already have plans to blog about some of these things in greater detail over the coming week, but be sure to leave a comment if there’s something in particular you want to know about!
Super cute apron…that would make me want to use it as an excuse to be in the kitchen! And those earrings! Pretty, pretty!
I have definitely been there on running out of a color for a project. Is it Cascade Vintage? If so, what color? I have a lot of leftover colors and might actually have it…
Have a wonderful day!! 🙂
I mean Berroco Vintage 🙂
Thanks for the offer! As it turns out, I found 2 skeins of the “Mellow” colorway in a shop in Canada. Hooray for the internet! 😉
Yaayy! 🙂
