I thought you might like an update on my tea towel apron. I fixed it, and I wear it all the time now.
It isn’t super elegant or anything, but it does the trick. I hate ripping out stitches, so I just did some fancy folding and stitched the fold in place.
See, the problem, mainly, was that the neck strap (there is a much better word for that, I’m sure, but it’s escaping me at the moment) was too wide, and when I wore it, the bib of the apron stuck out unattractively in front with extra fabric.
In order to get rid of some of that extra fabric, and bring the straps closer together at the same time, I folded each edge over twice and stitched the folds down at the top of the bib.
Does that make sense?
Despite the fact that it’s not the neatest of solutions, I like the results enough that I might even do this the same way, if I were starting from scratch.
