TWiP: Food, Drink, and the Atlantic Ocean

This Week in Pictures, Week 20, 2018

It’s a rainy Saturday morning, and I’m sitting on my bed, blogging, sipping coffee, and eating a chocolate chip muffin. The window is open a few inches, even though it’s 49F degrees outside, because it’s May, and May isΒ supposed to be warm, and I’m just stubborn about things like that.

Maybe you can help me with something. I’m listening to this playlist I’ve been slowly putting together, tentatively titled “Breakfast in Bed” and it’s really hitting the spot. I’ve got it full of music about morning and sunrises, and banana pancakes and all of that good stuff. But I feel like I’m missing some obvious choices. Do you have any favorite “morning music?” What do you think should be included in a Breakfast in Bed playlist? I’d love to hear your suggestions!

So, what is This Week in Pictures?

It’s a roundup of the microblogging I’ve done on Instagram all week. This includes photos I shot for Project 365 (the theme for 2018 is mornings: #myyearofmornings2018) and any other extra images I may have posted.

Ready? Cast your mind back to this time last week…

Saturday

365 πŸ“±: #myyearofmornings May 12 – I’m just a girl on a hotel balcony with a cup of locally roasted coffee and a selfie stick, enjoying the sounds of the ocean πŸ’™ #bliss [Taken at the Ocean Front Motel in Ocean City, NJ.]

Instagram πŸ“·: – It’s just started raining, but before that, we had a chance to go take some pictures of the amusements at dusk. [Taken at Playland’s Castaway Cove.]

Sunday

365 πŸ“±: #myyearofmornings May 13 – A cold and wet day at the beach is still a day at the beach 😁 [Taken on the boardwalk.]

Instagram πŸ“±: – It’s chilly but it seems wrong not to have the door open. I can see the ocean from the bed. I’m enjoying this #jerseyshorecookbook and the #oceancitycoffeeco Ocean City Blend my 15yo fetched for me ❀️ [Taken in our hotel room.]

Instagram πŸ“±: – I don’t usually drive anywhere when we’re here, but the weather is weird today, so why not hop in the car and explore further than we can on foot? [Taken at Corsons Inlet State Park.]

Monday

365 πŸ“±: #myyearofmornings May 14 – I guess if we have to go home today, the fog and the chill make it somewhat easier [Taken on the boardwalk.]

Instagram πŸ“±: – Well, there’s another Ocean City vacation over. How do these 4 days always go by so fast? [Taken at the hotel.]

Instagram πŸ“±: – A bag of Ocean City Decaf may have made it’s way into my suitcase, and I may have then brewed a cup at home on the front steps in my pajamas tonight… β˜•

Tuesday

365 πŸ“±: #myyearofmornings May 15 – It’s back to the daily grind this morning (although, the Ocean City Blend I’m drinking and the Castaway Cove ferris wheel on my mousepad kinda proves that part of me is still on vacation…) [Taken at work.]

Wednesday

365 πŸ“±: #myyearofmornings May 16 – My @madderrootmaine temporary tattoos arrived this week πŸ’Ÿ [Taken at work.]

Thursday

365 πŸ“±: #myyearofmornings May 17 – This morning I’m thinking about what I may want to bake this weekend. It involves rhubarb, ice cream, and a crunchy topping πŸ˜‹ [Taken at work.]

Instagram πŸ“±: – I don’t usually do the cooking around here anymore, but tonight I tried a new barley recipe. It was good, and there are lots of leftovers πŸ˜‹

Friday

365 πŸ“±: #myyearofmornings May 18 – Current situation: trying to figure out how to have a leisurely cup of coffee at home and also make it to work on time. Probably should have brewed this half an hour ago 😁…

Instagram πŸ“±: – Just picked up the sign that’s going to go on our front lawn in about a month… 😭 #sob #itgoessofast
