I am a firm believer in surrounding oneself with beautiful tools. Why use an uninspiring old Bic pen, when you can use a colorfully embellished one? Am I right? And I would say the same thing about crochet hooks, seam rippers, knitting loom tools, and any other utilitarian object that will sit still long enough to let me cover it with a pretty pattern! One need only to look in my shop to see evidence of that.
Well, first, I googled “badge reel” because I’ve worked from home for so long, it was not a work-related item that was in my vocabulary. But then I jumped.
I can 100% guarantee you that if I had to wear an ID badge to work every day, I would have gotten out my clay and decorated the boring old badge clip within a week of being on the job.
If you have to wear this thing every day, shouldn’t you think of it like jewelry? or an accessory? Shouldn’t it look nice there clipped to your belt, your pocket, or your lapel? I think so. (I’m currently on the job hunt myself, and you can bet that if I find one where I need to wear an ID badge, I will be making myself a small pile of these clips to coordinate with every outfit…)
I’ve made several badge reels that are ready-to-ship, but if you prefer other colors and patterns, custom ordering is still open for the next two weeks or so. It costs the same for custom-made work as it does for ready-to-ship, by the way, so there’s no reason not to get exactly what you want 🙂
I adore my stitch ripper and crochet hooks from you. Not only are they pretty, but I like the way they feel to hold. The badge holders are so nice, if I needed to wear one these would be on my list for sure.
Thanks, Kat! It’s always nice to hear that my tools are well-loved after they leave my work table! 😊
