Red, orange, brown gold. Those are the colors I would have named as “fall colors” if you had asked me in the past. But more and more, I am feeling like purple belongs in there, too.
Sometimes the dried up leaves take on a violet tint all on their own, and sometimes I bump up the tendency toward purpleness in post-processing. It’s all good.
Monday of this past week, the twins went home. We do miss their fun little four-year-old selves around here, but I won’t lie: Tuesday was glorious in it’s do-nothingness. Babysitting for six days while simultaneously dealing with a cold can be a challenging prospect, so I gave myself Tuesday off.
When I say “off” I mean I barely got dressed. I barely moved off of the couch. I watched multiple episodes of Marple and Mad Men while knitting – during the day! How rebellious and irresponsible of me. Yes, Tuesday was well-deserved and well-enjoyed.
I did end up finishing a long-term knitting project this week, and I am looking forward to showing that to you in the next few days (so keep your eyes open for it). Friday I cast-on for a new project – this one with cables – for my mother-in-law for her November birthday. I ought to be able to finish in time, particularly when you take into account my weekend plans.
What are my weekend plans, you ask? Oh, pretty much the same as last Tuesday: Netflix and knitting. Yay!
So, what is This Week in Pictures?
It’s a roundup of the photos I shot for my Project 365, plus some everyday-life images I posted on Instagram during the previous week. (FYI, my daily photo project this year has changing monthly themes. October’s them is Fall [of course!])
Ready? Cast your mind back to this time last week…
Saturday
365: Fall 4/31 – It’s a rainy Saturday.
Sunday
365: Fall 5/31 – Leaves in the path.
Monday
365: Fall 6/31 – One of my favorite things to do in the fall: cozy up with a handmade blanket, a cup of coffee, a mystery on the DVR, and a knitting project.
Tuesday
365: Fall 7/31 – Almost time to open a new bag of coffee. This one seems appropriate.
Wednesday
365: Fall 8/31 – Such a pretty day today. It was impossible to resist a quick stop at the Swamp on the way to Trader Joe’s.
Thursday
365: Fall 9/31 – A little bit of red.
Friday
365: Fall 10/31 – Ah, fall. That special time of year where we take turns staying home sick with colds. Today it’s Flufy’s turn. I offered him a cup of tea with honey, but he preferred a mug of warm-ish chocolate.
Thanks for taking a peek at this week’s photos! If you want to see this stuff as it happens, please feel free to follow me on Flickr.
I may already have plans to blog about some of these things in greater detail over the coming week, but be sure to leave a comment if there’s something in particular you want to know about!
