The above are some scenes from part one of our weekend: a surprise overnight stay in Ocean Grove. The boys had never spent the night there before, so they were excited when we revealed about an hour into our trip, that it wasn’t a day trip after all… we’d booked a room and would be staying! It was so much more fun and leisurely, knowing we didn’t have to go right home.
Not to mention, I am always happy when I wake up someplace within walking distance of a good bakery. Crumb buns and coffee for breakfast? Oh, yes please!
That morning, we checked out of the hotel, but we still had another surprise up our sleeves:
Another overnight stay, this time in Ocean City! They totally didn’t see this one coming. It’s kind of a hike for a one-night stay, but since we’d been in Ocean Grove, we were already halfway there. So why not?
Surprising the boys with two beaches and two overnight trips in one weekend? I think we might have blown their minds a little.
Mine, too, if we’re being honest. I wasn’t ready to come home!
Looks like you and your family have had a much deserved, lovely weekend!
Though we live in Long Branch, 15 minutes from Ocean Grove, I still love to visit that sweet little town! Like stepping back in time. Lovely post! Happy Autumn.
Happy Autumn to you, too! I always wondered if living near the shore would take away some of the appeal of my favorite spots. Nice to know you can still enjoy them even when it doesn’t take a major production to get there. I’d hate to think I was wasting my time, daydreaming about a home near the ocean 🙂
Thanks for dropping by!
