Rainbow Stud Earrings

Every morning when I get dressed, I dump my little bowl of stud earrings out onto the bed, and I choose a pair that would look nice with whatever t-shirt I am wearing that day. Most of the earrings in that bowl are of the brass/polymer/resin variety that I make, though there are a few that I purchased from other makers. Barely a day goes by that I am not wearing something handmade, and it usually starts with earrings.

So a few days ago, I put on one of my numerous nerdy t-shirts and started pawing through my collection for the perfect pair of studs. The shirt was red, and I put on a pair of Campfire Jubilee hexagons, but what I really wanted was rainbows. Luckily, I know the artist (😜) and am able to fill the holes in my collection pretty much any time I want to.

And that is the story of how I came to be sharing this small collection today. I am calling this colorway “Prism” because I am already using “Rainbow” for something else. But really, this Prism collection is more rainbow than the Rainbow collection 😁

I also made a few that I call “Prism (Bright),” which feature a lighter and brighter rainbow design. I think the Prism (Bright) square studs above look like tiny Polaroid symbols, don’t you?

Anyway, I have set aside the pair I want, and the rest are for you, dear readers. And when they’re gone, they’re gone. (I’ve already balled up the leftover clay scraps, mixed them with a little Kato Blackout, and gotten myself a nice charcoal gray color to use in some other project. So there’s no more Prism collection materials left, unless I start from scratch.)
