A little bit of randomness

Hmmm, I seem to recall promising to award a gift certificate to a random commentator on this post.  While the level of participation was a little disappointing, I’m still pleased to award the gift.  Congratulations, Norma!  I hope you enjoy it.  Check your email – I sent you details on how to redeem your prize.

I was supposed to give that gift certificate away last Wednesday, but time just got away from me, and here it is six days later.  Oops!  Better late than never, eh?

I hope you don’t mind a little bit of randomness today.  My mind hasn’t rested on any single thing for very long lately.  For instance, this past weekend, I decided that it was time to mess up the dining room a little bit and get my clay supplies out again.  I got everything set up, but nothing spoke to me.  I ended up changing my mind and sitting down with a book (Organized Simplicity – it’s new and I’m liking it so far).

I never did get back to the clay, although the stuff is still set up.  I see that we might be getting a 68-degree day later this week, and now I’m thinking, “out with the clay, in with the sewing machine – it’s wrap skirt season!”  The crafts are doing battle in my brain.  I’ll let you know who wins out.  For now, I’m pretty much paralyzed with indecision and nothing fun is being done at all.

Except, well, shopping.  Not sure what’s gotten into me (could it be the closet purge talking? or maybe the imminent appearance of spring?).  Whatever it is, it’s taken me shopping.  Have I mentioned this eBay company called World of Good?  (Not to be confused with World of Goo, which is also very cool but in a totally different way.)

I am in danger of becoming addicted to this site – it’s almost as if the labels “fair trade” “handmade” and “eco-friendly” are giving me permission to shop with reckless abandon. Ok, maybe not reckless abandon. I am still me, after all. But I do seem to be on a little spree. Today this nice skirt arrived in the mail. Last week it was these earrings. And sometime in the next few days, I hope I’ll be welcoming this ring into my collection. Add a fitted white tee and some flirty sandals, and I am totally ready to welcome spring.

And sort of ready to put my wallet back in its holster for a while. Sort of.

As long as we’re being random, let me also say that there is a new little advertising section on Polka Dot Creations these days, and I would love for you to be a part of it. I envision it to be a spot where independent polymer lovers can hawk their artwork, supplies, tools, tutorials, and whathaveyou. It’s not entirely there yet, but all it really needs is for a few more of you to give it a try. Here’s some information about that.

Now the kids are on their way up to bed, and I need to decide if I am going to curl up on the couch with Inspector Lynley and some nearly-finished knitting, or if I am going to be a responsible adult and spend some time preparing for a meeting I have tomorrow morning.  Decisions, decisions…

LET’S KEEP IN TOUCH!

Don't worry, we won't bother you more than once or twice a month!

    1. I’m not the best reviewer in the world, but I’ll definitely chat a bit about it here if I find it inspiring in some way! (I haven’t gotten too far into it yet)
