I decided to take a break from my week-long avoidance of anything resembling business, and do this month’s Color Challenge. And if you’re checking the date and time of this post, you’ll see I’m getting it in just under the wire. Whew. I’m usually about 5 days early.
RED is apparently a very popular color, as there were 222 valid entries to choose from! As if I don’t already have a hard enough time choosing from 120 or so… You’ll be happy to know I eventually managed to choose nine favorites from the pool.
Allow me to introduce you to the finalists, before I reveal the winner:
- Peppermint Dream Ornament – Detail, by blockpartypress
- Holiday handmade cards-day 9, by cutiegoodie
- Let It Snow!, by winemakerssister
- GEMMA Zippy – Monkeys, by isew
- rosey flower spirit stick, by juliespace
- Red Berries Necklace, by kateveeme
- Reba, by qdpatooties
- Cafe, by dsdesigns
- Tile in Christmas shades, by poppins half dolls and things
I encourage you to take a closer look at these photos and at the rest of the ones in the pool! Leave your comments on the photos over at flickr and let the artists know what you think – it’s always gratifying to hear that something you made has gotten a positive reaction from another creative type.
If you are one of these finalists and would like to elaborate here on what was involved in creating your entry, be my guest – the comments section is yours ![]()

And now, I turn to the trusty random number generator (aka my 7-year-old, who hasn’t seen the entries at all) to select a winner:
Drumroll please…
And the winner is… #3!
Congratulations, winemakerssister! Your snowman card is really fun! I will be emailing you shortly with information about your $25 gift certificate.
Everyone else, get ready for January. We’ll be focusing on DARK SKY this month, which is just a fancy way of saying deep, dark blues tending towards the purple. I look forward to seeing what great things you come up with. Thanks, as always, for your participation!
