Young Love, Anticipation and Salad

Today was the end-of-year picnic for son #2’s school. Here he is with his “favorite friend,” as he calls her. I just love how he’s got his arm around her. Preschool scuttlebutt is that they like to hug and that he kissed her last week during circle time. My little Casanova!

It’s getting close to supper time around here and I am anticipating the arrival of the UPS guy. He’s usually here around this time. The fabric that I mentioned in my last post didn’t arrive yesterday, but the stuff from reprodepot is scheduled to get here today (I checked the tracking). The tracking number from purlsoho didn’t work, so I have no idea when the fabric I ordered from them will arrive. I *really* want to play tonight after supper, so I’m chomping at the bit!

I made a favorite summer salad today: Pine Nut Salad. It’s in the fridge cooling off as we speak. It is made of toasted pine nuts, alphabet pasta, scallions and peppers, with a lemon juice and olive oil dressing. It’s usually best after it’s had a day to soak up the flavors, but I’m only giving it about an hour. Leftovers for lunch tomorrow should be yummy! If anyone wants the recipe, leave a comment and I’ll post it.

Time to go gaze longingly out the front door…
