Everybody else is doing it, so what the heck – I opened an Etsy shop this morning. It’ll be interesting to see how my luck there compares to my luck on my website.

I call this "Home Alone: A Weekend Photo Project" 😜 Neil has been away this weekend for the first time in nearly two years. And so I popped a pack of film in the Polaroid and documented how I've spent my time. I didn't include watching TV or knitting, since that's how I spend almost every *other* weekend. So, while I did do a little bit of that, mostly I did other things. Housework has been Neil's domain ever since I went back to work full time, so it's a novelty now for me to do some of this stuff.1. Cleaning the kitchen counter before making myself Friday night dinner
2. Saturday morning, brewing a hot pourover
3. Cleaning the living room
4. Washing the filthy back window of the car the kids use (you couldn't see through it when the sun shone on it!)
5. Unloading the dishwasher
6. A fresh vintage table cloth for the kitchen table
7. Sunday morning, working on taxes

Happy mail this week! Reinforcement yarn for my current project, other yarn in a different color for another version of the same project, some travel bags for an upcoming trip, and some magazine back issues to flip lazily through during that same trip 🤩

This was me, a few hours ago, enjoying a maple latte and some vest knitting. Some time after I took this picture, I ran out of yarn. It's a darn shame, too, because I had another good 8 to 10 rounds planned for this color. My choices: rip the whole thing out, and introduce the fancy color later on in the design; or leave it alone, and buy more fancy yarn. I will leave the guessing of which option I chose as an exercise for the reader 😜.

New project! I'm winging it a bit with this one, s

New project! I'm winging it a bit with this one, so we'll have to wait and see if it turns out any good 😁. The plan is for it to be a vest, featuring a section of indie dyed yarn, and the rest in a coordinating solid color. Sweater quantities of artisan yarns don't usually fit into my budget, so this is how I get to use them: one hank at a time, as accents in garments mostly composed of my old standby workhorse brands.It forces me to get creative, which works for me, since I enjoy a challenge 😊.

I hardly believe I am writing this, but I have act

I hardly believe I am writing this, but I have actually finished this sweater that I started and abandoned over a year ago. Will I wear it? Time will tell. Short sleeved sweaters are hard for me to figure out an appropriate kind of weather for. But if I'd followed instructions and made this a long sleeved sweater, I can guarantee you I'd have thrown it aside for at least another year before I would be bored enough to pick it up and slog through it to the bitter end. Thin yarns and I do not get along, if you haven't guessed by now. I have zero patience 😜 Anyway, it's finished, I think I like it, and I'm free to start the next project that's been on my mind. The only thing as satisfying as binding off is casting on 😁.

This hem has been even more slow going than the rest of this sweater. However, I think if I commit to spending the rest of the day in front of the TV, I might just be able to finish. A sacrifice I am willing to make for my craft 😁.
