TWiP: Definitely Fall

This Week in Pictures (TWiP) at Polka Dot Cottage

Fallen leaves, brilliant golds and reds against the sky, handknit sweaters, hearty soups? Definitely fall.

We’re staying home this weekend for a change. Maybe I’ll get to finish knitting Neil’s sweater once and for all πŸ™‚

So, what is This Week in Pictures?

It’s a roundup of the photos I shot with my DSLR for Project 365 (one image each day for all of 2015), plus some phone snapshots I posted on Instagram during the previous week.

Ready? Cast your mind back to this time last week…

Saturday

365: 2015 290/365 – On the periphery of the Ravelry get-together at the NYS Sheep and Wool Festival (aka Rhinebeck) this afternoon. This year I did not remain on the periphery, but wandered into the crowd and even mingled a bit. Thank you, everyone who stopped and said hello! It was nice to have some conversations this time around πŸ™‚ [in Rhinebeck, NY]

Sunday

365: 2015 291/364 – Sunday morning in New Paltz. Very chilly! Glad I brought my heaviest sweater for the drive home. [in New Paltz, NY]

Monday

365: 2015 292/365 – Frost. I had to scrape ice off of the windshield this morning. I’m not ready for this. [Taken with my phone]

Tuesday

365: 2015 293/365 – I’ve been working on some improvements to the download shop. I spent all day in this chair, nerding out over it. I’m not done yet, but it’s close. I’m really happy with the way it’s going!

Wednesday

365: 2015 294/365 – Earlier in the week it was really chilly and I bought soup ingredients. Then I got busy with other stuff and didn’t make the soup. Today, when it was 75 degrees, I made it. It wasn’t bad, but it would have been better if it were a cold day πŸ™‚

Thursday

365: 2015 295/365 – Vintage 1960’s stuff in my living room: Neil’s parents bought the table brand new, and we’ve had for the last 20+ years. (it’s been replaced this month [which is why it’s no longer in the dining room], but still hasn’t gone out the door…) The pile of granny squares is from a sweater that my great-grandmother crocheted for my mother. I’m going to be re-assembling it into some kind of small throw.

Friday

365: 2015 296/365 – What a beautiful Fall day it was today!

Thanks for taking a peek at this week’s photos! If you want to see this stuff as it happens, please feel free to follow me on FlickrΒ and/or Instagram.

I may already have plans to blog about some of these things in greater detail over the coming week, but be sure to leave a comment if there’s something in particular you want to know about!

  1. The air certainly has begun to have that chill in it! I don’t mind though, it’s my favourite season πŸ™‚
Rhinebeck looked amazing! One day I hope to go πŸ™‚

    1. I feel the same way about fall πŸ™‚
I met quite a few people at Rhinebeck who had traveled great distances to be there. I was surprised! I even met someone who’d come from the UK.

  2. Rhinebeck looks fabulous!! Awesome photos!!:)

    1. Thanks πŸ™‚ It was! I wish I hadn’t been the one doing the driving on the way home, because the scenery was begging to be photographed. It was gorgeous!
