Good mail day

Yesterday was a good mail day. I received a new mug from Vistaprint to replace one of my older ones that I’d broken. I love the new design on this one. Despite the fact that I still have 4 or 5 perfectly good Polka Dot Cottage mugs from years gone by, I still kinda want to design a couple more new ones. Somebody stop me. My mug cabinet overflows as it is.

Also, there’s Artful Blogging.

It’s been so long since I’ve written a magazine article, sometimes I forget that I have actually been published before. About ten years ago, I had two articles in PolymerCAFE. That was cool, but it was at a time when I struggled with photography, and the images I provided to them were really only just passable.

It’s so different for me now. Now I take great pleasure in photography, and I know a lot more about what the heck I am doing behind the camera. Seeing my words and images in print these days is a different kind of pleasure. Sure, it’s always cool to be published in a national magazine, but it’s doubly exciting when you have just as much confidence in the pictures as you do in the words.

My Artful Blogging article is right there,  in living color, on page 84.

Did I mention how cool it is to see your photographs in print? Yes? Well, it bears repeating. It’s pretty cool.

(P.S. Thank you, Stampington & Company, for noticing me!)

  1. Congrats! Looks so pretty!

    1. Thanks 🙂

  2. Beautiful photos of the photos of your photos, Lisa (sorry, I couldn’t resist) 🙂 I’d love to design a mug, but thus far have been too lazy to even do a banner for my blog 🙁 It’s on “the list”…

Have you noticed the traffic increased to your woven cane tutorial in the last week? Did you know it was the featured cane this week at the 52 Weekly Canes FB group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/52weeklycanes/

Just thought I would pass it on since I noticed you weren’t a member, Lisa. The tutorial was very popular with lots of pics posted, folks even sharing their adaptations, goofs and ideas for using their canes (one lady plans to make doll clothes… cool) 🙂

    1. Oh, that is so cool! I can’t wait to check it out 🙂 Thanks for letting me know!

  3. Way cool, Lisa! Your photos ARE really wonderful. I’m glad you were recognized for them! Congrats on the whole article!

    1. Thanks, Sally 🙂

  4. Great! Congratulations!
Your blog is one of the very few i always come back to visit once in awhile. Love your fotographs and your creative spirit!

    1. Thanks! And I’m happy to hear you keep coming back 🙂
