Here we go again

Crochet flowers

I spent all day Monday getting that vlog off the ground, and then I disappeared, not to be seen anywhere near the blog since.  So I’m checking in so you see I am still alive, but I’m keeping it short and sweet because I’m too tired to string too many sentences together at this time of night.

In a nutshell, I’ve found a couple of smaller crochet hooks + some leftover balls of Malabrigo worsted in my stash, and have been learning to make a few kinds of flowers.

Including a fun little clip for my hair (you may have noticed I wore it in the vlog).

Then I used what I learned and tried the granny square thing again.  Much much better this time.

A granny square

Technically, I have learned exactly what I set out to learn – how to finish off some of Granny’s granny squares.  But now I find I cannot stop.  I bought fabric today, and some yarn – for a sewn Summer top with crochet yoke.  Looks like I’ve been captured by another craft.  Here we go again…

I’ll be back in a few days to tell you all about the online class I’m taking.  For now, I’m going to bed.  Enjoy your weekend!

  1. YEAH! C’mon over to the dark side! The “knitting group” I attend here sometimes is mostly crocheters right now.

  2. Do you have directions for the flowers? I’m knitting a hat and I think a flower on the side would be cute!

    Thanks!

  3. […] The next lesson was for an embellished cardigan, and that was the one that spurred me into action.  I watched it in its entirety, turned off the computer, and then tried my hand at a multi-colored flower.  Not bad for a first try, eh? Very encouraging.  I made a bunch more after that, which I’ve already shown you. […]
