The lilies are in bloom

Easter lilies

Well, almost, anyway. It’s appropriate that the Easter Lilies would start to open up today, don’t you think? They’re going to be so pretty…

Not much to report today. I’m wearing my favorite skirt, and a new favorite rectangle pendant. I’ve baked my “famous” apple pie. I’ve chipped the dirt off of the children. We’ll be spending the afternoon with my in-laws, and probably coming home with too much Easter candy. I don’t know how many more years I can get away with my usual trick of hiding the candy in the cupboard until the kids forget all about it, but I’m going to milk it as long as possible.

Have a happy day!

  1. Beautiful lillies. I can’t have them. The cats try to eat them.

    1. Ah. We don’t have cats – Neil and Eamonn are allergic to them. We started an annual Lily tradition last year at this time, and I am enjoying having them around.

  2. Just don’t let the boys read your blog and you’ll be able to hide the candy for a long time.

    1. Heh. Yeah. And there are probably plenty of other reasons why they shouldn’t read my blog anyway 😉

  3. Is that a silver bezel around your favorite rectangle pendant? If so, do you make them for each piece or do you buy standard forms? Love the pendant by the way. Happy Easter.

    1. Yes, it’s silver. That particular bezel was a gift, but I plan to buy some soon so I can make more of those pendants!

  4. The pendant is gorgeous, and matches the skirt really well! I am jealous. Not quite skirt weather here yet! Maybe in a few weeks!

    1. Thanks! And truth be told, it’s not really skirt weather here, either. If I’d had to spend any time outside, my teeth would have been chattering before too long 😉

  5. Hi Lisa,
Your skirt is so pretty for spring! I love your new rectangle pendant. It’s so scrumptious looking. Beautiful lilies, too.

    1. Thanks! I made that skirt last year, and I just love it. And as soon as I can get my hands on some more rectangle bezels, I’m going to make some more of those pendants, too.

  6. The lilies are so pretty. I received one from my mother-in-law for Easter but dang if it isn’t stinky. I kept thinking there was something bad in the refrigerator or garbage can and then it hit me…it was the lilies. 🙂

    1. Yeah, it really would be nice if they smelled as pretty as they looked!

  7. I hide the candy from the kids so that they won’t eat too much. Inevitably, I end up eating too much of it too! 😀 Good try Mom!

Stop on by anytime. I’ll fix you a glass of iced tea & you can put your feet up. Confessions of an Apron Queen: http://anapronaday.blogspot.com

    1. Heh. I’ve already snuck a peppermint patty from one of the baskets. I’m impressed that’s all I’ve done so far!
