Guys, I hope you like looking at these ornaments I’ve been making, because they totally dominated my week. This TWiP mosaic is essentially just dozens of miniature people in various stages of completion…
So, what is This Week in Pictures?
It’s a roundup of the photos I shot with my DSLR for Project 365 (one image each day for all of 2015), plus some phone snapshots I posted on Instagram during the previous week.
Ready? Cast your mind back to this time last week…
Saturday
365: 2015 346/365 – I have to admit, I have dreaded doing family portrait ornaments. In the past, I found them to be a chore. But you know what? I’m actually enjoying it this time. And I’m really pleased with the results I’m getting. In fact, even though I thought two per day was my limit and I prefer to work in the daylight, I got the urge to do a third after supper, so I flipped on a light and did it 🙂
Sunday
365: 2015 347/365 – I’m all about the pigtails and artsy earrings today 🙂
Monday
365: 2015 348/365 – The first half of the first batch of 2015 ornaments are finished. I just have to give the paint time to dry properly, and then they can be on their way. Now, on to the next five 🙂
Tuesday
365: 2015 349/365 – So, I promised to make 10 (8 for customers, 1 for a gift, and 1 for myself) and I finished that commitment today. These are the last five. I am on such a roll, and I’d love to keep going with the second batch of recent orders, but if I don’t force myself to stop, my family is not going to have a Christmas, LOL! TIme to switch gears for a while 🙂
Wednesday
365: 2015 350/365 – We got a new artificial tree this year, because every year we dread the work of assembling (and disassembling later) the one we’ve had for 20 years. That one was big and lovely and had a million pieces. This one is smaller, and nice enough, but it has three pieces. Three! 😁🎄
Thursday
365: 2015 351/365 – Every year I make a special ornament for each of my sons so that some day when they go out into the world, they will have a little box of special things for their own Christmas trees. These are Aidan’s ornaments, 2000-2014 (I haven’t made him one yet for this year).
Friday
365: 2015 352/365 – Put some decorations on the tree this afternoon.
Thanks for taking a peek at this week’s photos! If you want to see this stuff as it happens, please feel free to follow me on Flickr and/or Instagram.
I may already have plans to blog about some of these things in greater detail over the coming week, but be sure to leave a comment if there’s something in particular you want to know about!
