Pulled all together into a mosaic, this week’s images have a dark and earthy vibe, I think. Lots of greens and browns. I don’t think my days were as moody as they look, though.
These images feel like September to me. I’m glad it’s not September, though. I’m not nearly finished with summer. Next week I think I need to inject a little beach, ice cream, and pool into the mix…
Sometimes I feel like my photography is not as bright and colorful as I’d like it to be. Last night while Aidan and I were at Barnes & Noble (a favorite Friday night destination for us) I came across a special photography issue of Mollie Makes, and A Beautiful Mess Photo Idea Book
So, what is This Week in Pictures?
It’s a roundup of the photos I shot for my Project 365, plus some everyday-life images I posted on Instagram during the previous week. (FYI, my daily photo project this year has changing monthly themes. The theme for July was “Summer” where I used Tracey Clark’s daily photo prompts from her Picture Summer class. August’s theme is “Soul” based on the exercises in Alessandra Cave’s new book Shooting With Soul.)
Ready? Cast your mind back to this time last week…
Saturday
365: Summer 26/31 – Silhouettes of Summer – My knitting basket, which contains a sweater-in-progress. Slow progress, at that.
Sunday
365: Summer 27/31 – Getting the Giggles – I knew if I stalked them with my camera long enough, somebody would say something amusing 🙂
Monday
365: Summer 28/31 – A Spin on Summer – (Translation: Give the camera a little torque as you press the shutter.) This is a view of the narrow path between my house and garage, looking from the back yard to the front with evergreens on either side.
Tuesday
365: Summer 29/31 – Barefootin – A fresh coat of polish. This image is my Plan B. Plan A involved my teenager giving me a pedicure, but for some reason, he wasn’t up for that.
Wednesday
365: Summer 20/31 – Endless Summer – I was hoping for a spectacular sunset tonight, but it was all fairly subtle. Still nice, though.
Thursday
365: Summer 31/31 – Decorate for Summer – (Translation: make a photo garland using shots from the month.) I skipped this prompt last time I took Picture Summer because I thought it would be a pain in the neck. I was in a better mood this year, LOL! It was actually pretty fun to do. The only challenge has been finding somewhere to hang it up.
Friday
365: Soul 1/31 – Exercise 13: Weather – I was all set to do the exercises in order, but the rain storm kind of fell in my lap today and changed my mind 🙂
Thanks for taking a peek at this week’s photos! If you want to see this stuff as it happens, please feel free to follow me on Flickr.
I may already have plans to blog about some of these things in greater detail over the coming week, but be sure to leave a comment if there’s something in particular you want to know about!
Love all your pictures!!
Thank you 🙂
