TWiP: Whoosh!

This Week in Pictures

Whoosh! That’s the sound of this week flying by. Thank goodness I take pictures daily so I have some proof that there was more to my life than nerding out on the laptop next to an open window for the last seven days.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that. It’s been a nice week to be nerdy. Next to an open window. Sipping iced coffee.

So, what is This Week in Pictures?

It’s a roundup of the photos I shot for my Project 365, plus some everyday-life images I posted on Instagram during the previous week. (FYI, my daily photo project this year has changing monthly themes. The theme for July is “Summer” and I am using Tracey Clark’s daily photo prompts from her Picture Summer class.)

Ready? Cast your mind back to this time last week…

Saturday

365: Summer 19/31 – Jump shot – Or, how about walk off of a chair shot, instead?

Sunday

365: Summer 20/31 – When Order is in Order – (Translation: capture a repeating pattern.) I found this pattern while picking up Neil from the airport this afternoon.

Monday

365: Summer 21/31 – Spacey – (Translation: fill your viewfinder with lots of space.) My afternoon snack.

Tuesday

365: Summer 22/31 – Girl, Put Your Records On – (Translation: capture the lyrics of a favorite song). I thought I’d like a picture of my favorite dress (which I made out of a thrift shop sheet), blowing in the breeze on an outdoor clothesline ["This dress that I made / Out of the curtains / Was on the line / Dancing around / Better than I can"], but I don’t actually have a clothesline. And then, before I knew it, it was bedtime. So here’s my cop-out: a picture of my tablet, quietly playing a mellow 8tracks playlist, since I like to do that before bed in the summer.

Wednesday

Summer 23/31 - Life is But a Dream

365: Summer 23/31 – Life is But a Dream – (Translation: something floating in water) Oh, how much nicer this would be if I had a pool! I’d gladly hop on a raft and float around all afternoon for the sake of my art 😉

Thursday

365: Summer 24/31 – Larger Than Life – (Translation: play with shadows). Peace, man.

Friday

365: Summer 25/31 – The Magic Number – (Translation: tell a story with a triptych.) This is the story of my afternoon snack: iced coffee with all the fixins. Now that I’ve (mostly) given up soda, this is one of my new afflictions…

  1. Ah ha!! Flickr it is! Flickr here I come. Sounds like you’re having fun taking different photos. I like the idea of taking pics of things I wouldn’t normally take pictures of! I’m stuck on birds right now. My hummers are putting on such a nice show for me — you’d think they were posing!

    1. I think it’s good to get outside prompts now and then. Without them, I’d only ever photograph coffee cups and knits in-progress 😉

  2. Yum! I want to buy some mocha syrup…right this minute!!

    1. I got mine at davescoffee.com – soooooo good! I use it in iced coffee, but I keep thinking it would be great dribbled over ice cream…

  3. Thank you!! Ohhh, bet that would be yumminess with ice cream! Gonna order some. 🙂

    1. It’s a little pricey, but that one bottle lasted me over a year!

  4. That”s awesome! I ordered a bottle earlier today…I can’t wait to get it! 🙂
