Description
There is no pant more comfortable than one that has been custom fit to your own particular curves. With just a few measurements and a little bit of math, you can have a pair of cozy and relaxing lounge pants or pajama bottoms in your favorite fabric.
These pants have been designed to have a feminine fit: close-fitting in the hips and bottom, with a wide luxurious straight leg. (Instructions are given for changing the silhouette if you prefer a tapered leg, or a looser fit in the seat.) Use the same pattern to make long pants, shorts, or a cropped length!
This tutorial uses plain English to walk you through the process of measuring yourself, translating those body measurements into pattern measurements, making a custom pattern, and finally sewing the pants. There’s no confusing sewing terminology, so it’s accessible to the beginner.
Required Skills
The project is suitable for motivated beginners. Â If you can sew a straight line and do a little basic math, then you can do this!
The pattern includes a printable worksheet to help you use your measurements to draft a custom pattern. If you would prefer to leave the math to someone else, I’ve created a calculator that you can use here.
