Description
From those first crisp moments of fall, to the last lingering chills of spring, this Everyday Cardigan knitting pattern will be a wardrobe staple. Throw it over your favorite tee, layer it under a light Winter jacket, wrap it around you as you sit by the fire and watch the falling snow… This sweater is meant to be worn every day. Whether you’re sitting around the house in a t-shirt and jeans, or hitting the town in a corduroy skirt and boots, this cardi will be right at home.
Knit almost entirely in stockinette stitch, the pattern is straightforward enough for a relative beginner, but includes a little bit of ribbing and some seed stitch details to add visual interest.
If you are a new knitter, don’t let terms like “ribbing” and “seed stitch” scare you off – these are simply combinations of knits and purls. If you can do those two stitches, then you’ve got this!

I was looking for a simple knit top down cardigan for my first try. I had a sample from the blogspot here and was confused so decided to buy the whole pattern. The best choice I made. It was even more simple to understand and turned out a beautiful knit. The sizing was perfect too. I am 42″ and knitted the next up size from it, I think was for 43″ and it fits so well on bust, body and arms. The pattern will be so easy to adjust to other patterns like lace, cables etc. It was a pure joy to use and will be my ‘GO TO’ pattern for summer/winter knits. I used a 50%cotton/pure wool/mohair yarn that fit the stitch swatch perfectly. If you are looking for a simple cardigan that can also be easily adjusted, this is it. Thanks so much from a very satisfied customer.
