1971 Calico

1971 Jubilee

The very first “fabric” design I ever made, Blue Calico was created to match a skirt I owned in the late 1990s. Though the skirt is long gone, I continue to use this pattern in my work. It was the starting point for the entire body of tile-able fabric-like designs that make up the current Polka Dot Cottage aesthetic.

The Campfire color scheme features red, orange, and pearlescent purple, combined together and with bits of white and black. It was created specifically to coordinate with the Glazed Carrot, Archangel, and Holly Hock colorways of Malabrigo Rios yarn, when knit together into a scarf or shawl.
