Peony season ended in an explosion of pink petals on my kitchen counter. I always want more time with these gigantic blooms. I must say, though, when they’ve decided they’ve had enough, they self destruct magnificently, in voluminous piles, photogenic in their own right.

You’ll see from the photos that candles and fresh baked quickbreads were a part of my week, though you can’t tell that I was listening to a “Choral Chill” playlist on Spotify almost constantly while I was at work. (I didn’t make it, I’m just a fan.) There’s something so Autumnal to me about a choir of voices with minimal accompaniment, especially when I can’t understand a word they are saying 😜. It’s like cozy white noise.
