Shawl Pins

Description

These shawl pins are 100% handmade. The open tile shapes consist entirely of durable polymer clay and feature a veneer of one of my signature millefiori designs.

The color and finish is inherent in the clay. No paints or sealers are used, so there is no possibility of chipping. After baking, the tiles are wet-sanded through several grits of sandpaper, and then buffed until they shine. They are exceedingly smooth, and pleasant to touch.

The pin sticks are your choice of wood, or polymer-covered metal. All options taper to a point and have been sanded smooth. Which should you choose?

• The wooden cherry hair sticks are uniform in size, wider than the others, and best used with heavier shawls.
• The handmade sticks consist of either cherry, walnut, or maple. They are less than 1/4″ at their widest.
• The polymer sticks are black and narrower than the wooden sticks. They are roughly 1/8″ at their widest.

Due to the fact that these items are handmade, and each one is unique, pattern placement and stick style may vary from that depicted in the sample images.
