Surface Designs

  • Blue Calico
    The very first “fabric” design I ever made, Blue Calico was created to match a skirt I owned in the late 1990s. Though the skirt is long gone, I continue to use this pattern in my work. It was the starting point for the entire body of tile-able fabric-like designs that make up the current Polka Dot Cottage aesthetic.

  • Blue Tortoise
    The “tortoise cane” is a subtle pattern, reminiscent of the rings on a tortoise’s shell. The Blue color scheme features navy, purple, and green, combined with white, black, and/or each other.

  • Bog Jubilee
    This design is exuberantly kaleidoscopic (learn to DIY it in polymer clay here). The Bog color scheme features brown, blue, and yellow, combined with white, black, and/or each other.

  • Campfire Jubliee
    This design is exuberantly kaleidoscopic (learn to DIY it in polymer clay here). The Campfire color scheme features red, orange, and pearlescent purple, combined together and with bits of white and black. It was created specifically to coordinate with the Glazed Carrot, Archangel, and Holly Hock colorways of Malabrigo Rios yarn, when knit together into a scarf or shawl.

  • Circus Tortoise
    The “tortoise cane” is a subtle pattern, reminiscent of the rings on a tortoise’s shell. The Circus color scheme features yellow, red, and pearlescent teal, combined together and with bits of white and black.

  • Cornflower Jubilee
    This design is exuberantly kaleidoscopic (learn to DIY it in polymer clay here). The Cornflower color scheme features navy blue, olive green, and turquoise, combined together and with bits of white and black. It was created specifically to coordinate with the In the Navy, Northside, and Heart of the Ocean colorways of Shirsty Cat BFL DK yarn, when knit together into a scarf or shawl.

  • Cornflower Tortoise

  • Honey Jubilee
    This design is exuberantly kaleidoscopic (learn to DIY it in polymer clay here). The Honey color scheme features yellow, brown, and glittery gold, combined with each other and with bits of white and black.

  • Lapis Jubilee
    This design is exuberantly kaleidoscopic (learn to DIY it in polymer clay here). The Lapis color scheme features ultramarine blue, cobalt blue, and pearlescent antique gold, combined with each other and with bits of white and black.

  • Lush Jubilee
    This design is exuberantly kaleidoscopic (learn to DIY it in polymer clay here). The Lush color scheme features yellow, fuchsia, and pearlescent purple, combined with each other and with bits of white and black.

  • Lush Retro
    The “retro cane” is common in polymer clay. You can learn more about it’s construction here. The Lush color scheme features yellow, fuchsia, and pearlescent purple, combined with each other and with bits of white and black.

  • Lush Tortoise

  • Olive Barcodes
    The Barcode Cane features a series of stacked irregular stripes. The Olive color scheme features turquoise, olive green, and yellow-green, combined with each other and with bits of white and black.

  • Pink Jubilee
    This design is exuberantly kaleidoscopic (learn to DIY it in polymer clay here). One of my earliest color schemes, Pink features red, maroon, and purple, combined with each other and with bits of white and black.

  • Plasmatic Barcodes
    The Barcode Cane features a series of stacked irregular stripes. The Plasmatic color scheme features yellow, dark brown, and turquoise, combined with each other and with bits of white and black.

  • Plasmatic Jubilee
    This design is exuberantly kaleidoscopic (learn to DIY it in polymer clay here). The Plasmatic color scheme features yellow, dark brown, and turquoise, combined with each other and with bits of white and black.

  • Rainbow Jubilee
    This design is exuberantly kaleidoscopic (learn to DIY it in polymer clay here). The Rainbow color scheme features three primary colors (red, yellow, and blue), combined with each other and with bits of white and black. Mixing the primaries gives you all of the colors of the rainbow.

  • Salmon Jubilee
    This design is exuberantly kaleidoscopic (learn to DIY it in polymer clay here). The Salmon color scheme features turquoise, pink, and glittery red, combined with each other and with bits of white.

  • Seaside Calico
    The “calico cane” features a small scale pattern of tiny flowers. The Seaside color scheme features turquoise, fuchsia, and yellow-green, combined with each other and with bits of white and black.

  • Swamp Calico
    The “calico cane” features a small scale pattern of tiny flowers. The Swamp color scheme features blue, brown, and yellow-green, combined with each other and with bits of white and black. These colors remind me of springtime in the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge.

  • Violet Calico
    The “calico cane” features a small scale pattern of tiny flowers. The Violet color scheme features blue, fuchsia, and purple, combined with each other and with bits of white and black. It was originally created in honor of the 2022 Pantone Color of the Year: Very Peri.

  • Violet Jubilee
