A PolyPubs Primer

About

PolyPubs was founded by Lisa Clarke of Polka Dot Creations in January, 2004 as a Yahoo! Group. Since then, its monthly mission has been to keep polymer clay enthusiasts informed as to the latest books, dvds, and magazines to be published in the field.

Despite obvious ties to Lisa’s online book shop, from the beginning PolyPubs has been intended to be a resource for all clayers, no matter where they buy their books. Readers have always been encouraged to print out the list, tuck it in their wallet, and take it with them to their local bookshop or public library. To that end, all of the most useful information – title, author, publisher, description, etc – has always been included right there in the list, with no need to click anywhere else.

In the Summer of 2009, with a readership of 800+ polymer fans, PolyPubs introduced a new website, adding more interactive features and more online purchasing options. Today, PolyPubs has left the Yahoo! Group behind, and continues to evolve in its own space, as a more accessible and more useful tool for polymer clay lovers everywhere.

Subscriptions

If you once belonged to the Yahoo! Group (or even if you didn’t) and you would like to continue to be notified on a monthly basis, you may subscribe to the feed in one of two ways: RSS in a reader such as Google Reader, or via email.

Advertising

Are you a polymer clay author, publisher, teacher or blogger? If you have a product or service of interest to polymer enthusiasts, you may wish to be a PolyPubs Sponsor. We have several affordable options, below. All ads run for a period of one month.

Upon receipt of payment, we will email you and ask for the following information (you can go ahead and send it to advertising@lisaclarke.net in advance, if you prefer):

  • the name of your business
  • the link to which you would like the ad to point
  • your ad, or a link to it – if you don’t have an ad, and would like us to make you one, we’d be happy to do so for an extra $5
