TWiP: Vera Flowers

This Week in Pictures, Week 36, 2022

I have been kind of obsessed with improving the Polka Dot Cottage shopping experience this week. I’ve rephotographed much of the jewelry, added a shop filter so you can see just the tools, or just the blue things, or just the green bracelets, or whatever makes you happy 😁 You should drop by the shop and see what I’ve been up to. Feedback is welcome and encouraged 💗

So, what is This Week in Pictures?

It’s a roundup of the little (and big!) moments I have captured all week. Some of these images are posted on Instagram, but many aren’t posted anywhere but here. Some days there may be no photos, and other days there may be multiples.

Photos taken with 📷 (Canon EOS 80D) or 📱 (Samsung Galaxy S9).

Saturday

Isn’t the Great Swamp pretty?

A tile pendant with matching sterling silver earrings 💗💛🌸

I nearly forgot that I’d bookmarked this Coloricombo Challenge a few weeks ago! The idea is to make some art with a floral theme using a particular palette. This palette was based on a scarf design by Vera Neumann. You can learn more about the challenge on Instagram

I have a lot more of this design left. I think it would make a lovely barrette or crochet hook handle. What do you think?

Story for Sunday

(Here’s a link to those new things in the shop, if you want a closer look!)

Monday

Progress on the polymer clay cabinet cleanup! These two photos show my collection of Sculpey III millefiori canes, and some unopened packages of Sculpey III. I switched to Premo Sculpey a decade ago, and this stuff has just been taking up space ever since. I wasn’t kidding last week when I said half of my storage space was lost to things I no longer use. I couldn’t bear to throw it away, but I found someone local who is willing to take it and use it with her Girl Scout troop. I’m glad it’s going to get a second life!
Tonight’s front door visitor

Thursday

I stepped out my front door, and a praying mantis grabbed my foot. That was a very weird feeling. I shook him off, and he pranced off into the grass, where he blends in quite well.

Friday

I hope you aren’t tired of my polymer clay experiments, because I don’t seem to want to stop 😁 I made myself a necklace. It’s a prototype for a design I hope to put in my shop soon. Now I just need to get myself a nice outfit to go with it 😜

Thanks for helping me celebrate the week! If you want to see some of this stuff as it happens, please feel free to follow me on Instagram ♥
