I’m not sure what I was thinking, taking on two daily projects in August. They’re taking over my life 😆 Both the earring project and the photo project have been good for me in their own ways, but I think I will be quite ready to devote my energy to other things, once this month is over.
It’s a roundup of the little (and big!) moments I have captured all week. Some of these images are posted on Instagram, but many aren’t posted anywhere but here. Some days there may be no photos, and other days there may be multiples.
Visiting Mom today, and we’re making a display piece for my earrings. Mom has no shortage of paints and stains and such.August 20: Something’s Forming. Today’s fun included painting part of an old door to use as a jewelry display. What this has to do with Picture Elements is the lighting shows the form of the door, accentuating it’s slats. Here is my August of Earrings so far, on display on the new piece my mother and I made. I think the making of this might deserve its own post soon.
Sunday
There’s a hole in one side near the top of this display piece, so I made two matching clay knobs, one of which covers the hole, and the other one sits evenly across from it. When I move this piece into the bedroom to hold my personal jewelry collection, I’ll use the knobs to hang necklaces from.August 21: Simple Division. A circle within a circle: maraschino cherries in a mason jar full of ice cubes and wine 😋🍒🍷
Story for Saturday and Sunday

August 22: Frames. Stormy night trip to Trader Joe’s with Aidan, framed by the windshield.
Tuesday
August 23: The More the Merrier. I’ve been trying not to lean too much on my polymer clay work for this photo project but when the prompt involves colorful things, it’s hard not to 😁
Wednesday
Another batch of earrings finished over the last few daysAugust 24: Find a Rhythm. The wicker basket that holds my current knitting project.

Eamonn got his driver’s license two days ago. There he goes, pulling out of the driveway to take himself to work alone for the first time.August 25: Going Organic. The organic lines of my rumpled quilt.
