This is the mosaic of somebody who had a four day weekend and didn’t let it go to waste. I had family time, I crocheted, I played some more with the fusion of NFC technology and polymer clay, I used polymer and resin to copy a pair of beloved-but-no-longer-for-sale Etsy-bought earrings that I lost, I got my dirty car washed so it sparkles and shines, and I enjoyed the last of the peonies.
I had four glorious consecutive days off of work, which I appreciated the heck out of, and which set me up for three relaxed and productive work days. I wish I could do this four-days-off, three-days-on schedule every week 😜
It’s a roundup of the little (and big!) moments I have captured all week. Some of these images are posted on Instagram, but many aren’t posted anywhere but here. Some days there may be no photos, and other days there may be multiples.
Confirmed: I am out of control where granny squares are concerned. There is no end in sight to this current obsession 🧶I have taken a break from yarn to make some more nfc-enabled polymer tags. Some for me, one for Mom, maybe some for the shop?💗I lost one of my favorite stud earrings in Ocean City. I hadn’t made the original pair, but with polymer, glitter, and resin I was able to make a new pair that is almost the same 💙💚
Aidan is setting off tonight for an epic road trip. He’ll be gone almost 3 weeks, visiting places he’s never been (heck, he’ll be places I’ve never been, either!) and sleeping in his van.
Monday
A few years ago, I took one of my favorite summer pictures featuring this exact ball in this exact spot. Also in this spot at the time, a pool and a couple of kids. I miss the pool a lot, and the kids have grown up a lot faster than I might have liked, but I do love walking barefoot in this grass, so there’s that.
Tuesday
I finally found the car wash gift card that I lost, so I got myself a premium wash this morning and said farewell to a year (maybe more) of accumulated pollen, road salt, sea salt, and grime. Oh, how my beautiful car sparkles now! 🤍🤍
Thursday
“Gentle protest” sounds just my speed. I can’t wait to dig into this book. I bought it secondhand from Better World Books without having seen a copy in person, and it is so full of *words* – I mean that in a good way. I am not sure what I was expecting, but this is nice and meaty, and should provide me with plenty of food for thought, as well as some ideas for taking action in ways that speak to my strengths.
I just discarded the last of my bedraggled peonies, and there are no reasonable looking specimens left outside, so I guess peony season is well and truly over in my little corner of the world. It was lovely while it lasted 💗
In happier news, I’m not even close to finished with this new blanket, and I’m loving it. These colors! Fingers crossed that my favorite skeins last a nice long time, because I have committed to making this only from stash. No new purchases allowed!
TWiP: Staying Home (2020) I've been working from home for over a month now. I like it. I wonder, when all of this is over, if I can get permission to work from home a few times a week on a regular basis. That would be nice.
