This time of year is always so beautiful in my neck of the woods. I wish I could put it into words better, but I really just appreciate the daylights out of the colors of my little state in October and November, and I am always taking pictures of it.
So, when Jersey Collective announced a photo exhibition with a theme of Autumn in New Jersey, I knew I had a lot of nice images I could submit. I picked five photos I had taken in the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, and two of them were chosen to be included in the opening exhibit of the gallery at the brand new Carteret Performing Arts Center. Yay!
This past Wednesday was the gallery’s opening night, and it was a kick to see my images blown up to three feet wide and hanging up alongside 46 others.
This was the first time I had ever submitted my photos to any kind of exhibition, but I will keep an eye out for other opportunities now, I think. It was nice to put myself out there a bit 🙂
So, what is This Week in Pictures?
It’s a roundup of the little (and big!) moments I have captured all week. Some of these images are posted on Instagram, but many aren’t posted anywhere but here. Some days there may be no photos, and other days there may be multiples. It’s more laid back than the Project 365s of previous years. You can learn more here 🙂
