It’s a roundup of the little (and big!) moments I have captured all week. Some of these images are posted on Instagram, but many aren’t posted anywhere but here. Some days there may be no photos, and other days there may be multiples. It’s more laid back than the Project 365s of previous years. You can learn more here 🙂
Here’s a very short video, featuring 1.5-second moments from the week:
Saturday
It’s finished – the mandala to match Mom’s living room rug. The blocking easily took care of the waviness, and I think it will look nice on the new table (which will be solid wood – no glass). We did a pretty good job of picking out colors!
Sunday
This hem has been even more slow going than the rest of this sweater. However, I think if I commit to spending the rest of the day in front of the TV, I might just be able to finish. A sacrifice I am willing to make for my craft 😁
Tuesday
I hardly believe I am writing this, but I have actually finished this sweater that I started and abandoned over a year ago. Will I wear it? Time will tell. Short sleeved sweaters are hard for me to figure out an appropriate kind of weather for. But if I’d followed instructions and made this a long sleeved sweater, I can guarantee you I’d have thrown it aside for at least another year before I would be bored enough to pick it up and slog through it to the bitter end. Thin yarns and I do not get along, if you haven’t guessed by now. I have zero patience 😜 Anyway, it’s finished, I think I like it, and I’m free to start the next project that’s been on my mind. The only thing as satisfying as binding off is casting on 😁
Thursday
It’s tiny pumpkin season. It’s also load up your Trader Joe’s cart with Autumnal goodness season.Do they taste any different than regular tortilla chips? No. Did I buy them just because they are cut in cute leaf shapes? Yes. Yes, I did.
Thanks for helping me celebrate the week! If you want to see this stuff as it happens, please feel free to follow me on Instagram ♥
Maker's Market 2022 (2022) I'll be at Urban Sewciety in Westfield, NJ this Saturday (December 3rd) to participate in the annual Maker's Market! Will I see you there? Read on for instructions for ordering ahead, if you would like me to set something aside for you.
TWiP: Picture the Holidays, Take Three (2018) I have spent all year capturing my mornings, but I find it hard to be innovative when I spend most of my morning hours in the office, where I have very little control over lighting and atmosphere, and more importantly, where I have a job to do that does not involve photographing my breakfast. So, I've been feeling a bit uninspired with My Year of Mornings, which is why I jumped at the change to participate in Picture the Holidays again.
Sponsors for December (2013) Every month I like to thank those who advertise at Polka Dot Cottage, and invite you to check out their shops and services. This month: K and C Supplies
Love your mandala and also your mom’s rug. Where did she get her rug? I’d love to have one like it.
She bought it online. She thinks it was probably Wayfair 🙂
Thanks! I’ll check there.
