Someone turned fifty years old on Saturday. Spoiler alert 🚨! It was me 😀
It was a lovely day, too. We decided at somewhat of a last minute to have a party, and so many of our extended family members were busy, but we had a nice intimate gathering. It was just the right size for getting our feet wet with hosting celebrations again. We’ve gotten rusty since the pandemic began, and honestly, we’ve never really been great party throwers anyway, so it’s not like the bar was super high 😀
So that was Saturday. And, as you will see from the photos, I pretty much have spent all of my indoor time in the same room, because it’s a real novelty having it so nicely cleaned up. And I’m still enjoying my birthday balloons and the peonies I cut from the front yard.
It’s a roundup of the little (and big!) moments I have captured all week. Most of these images are posted on Instagram, but others aren’t posted anywhere but here. Some days there may be no photos, and other days there may be multiples. It’s more laid back than the Project 365s of previous years. You can learn more here 🙂
Southeast Alaska! It’s been around 50 degrees during the day, for most of May and now June. And while many places are experiencing drought, we have had torrential rain. It feels like fall…ugh. Well, it IS a rainforest but it’s been more than average in the past 18 months. Last year we got about 175 inches. It’s getting old, like me! I need sun! Cheers to summer weather!
Oh, wow! I’ve heard Alaska is beautiful, but I definitely need some warmer weather than 50s in May! I hope you see the sun soon. Too many rainy days can be so depressing.
TWiP: Feeling Springy (2019) I've had the windows open in the house for the last few days. I love those first few days of open-window weather, especially if it's breezy. It feels like a cleanse of some kind, to have the spring air blowing through and pushing out the last remnants of stuffy winter atmosphere.
Mod Floral Mania (2016) There's a new crochet pattern coming to the shop, along with a free excerpt and a giveaway. Yay!
Happy 50th Birthday Lisa! Love your crafty stuff and love peonies! I have been enjoying your posts and photos of a place that gets real summers.
Aw, thanks! Do you live somewhere cold, then?
