TWiP: Honey and Straw

This Week in Pictures, week 7, 2021

It was a crafty week. In fact, I almost called this post “TWiP: Crafty Week” until I decided I could do better. And, as it turns out, picking another name was a good idea, since “TWiP: Crafty Week” is exactly what I named the post I published one year ago at this time. So, I guess I have a pattern to my behavior 🙂

Honey and Straw are the two names I debated using for one of my new polymer color schemes. It was nearly Straw, but I went with Honey in the end. I will leave it to you to view the images below and guess which of the new designs features the Honey colors. It shouldn’t be too hard to figure out.

It’s also entirely possible that this is a crafty time of year for me because this is the time of the Clayathon. I do plan to publish a separate post about the Clayathon 2021 Experience, but until that happens, you can get a glimpse of what I made, and some behind-the-scenes stuff in my Stories.

So, what is This Week in Pictures?

It’s a roundup of the little (and big!) moments I have captured all week. Most of these images are posted on Instagram, but others aren’t posted anywhere but here. Some days there may be no photos, and other days there may be multiples. It’s more laid back than the Project 365s of previous years. You can learn more here 🙂

Photos taken with 📷 (Canon EOS 80D) or 📱 (Samsung Galaxy S9).

TWiP Clips

Here’s a very short video, featuring 1.5-second moments from the week:

Saturday

I made a few things today. Clockwise from top left: a pair of hair clips for me, six barrettes (not yet finished) two of which are for me, four new millefiori canes (two are remakes of jubilee and tortoise canes in my old Rainbow color scheme, and two are the same canes in a new Salmon color scheme), and two unfinished bangle bracelets in the center.

Sunday

Today’s Clayathon achievements: one new millefiori cane, and a whole bunch of half finished stuff that I will need to sand, buff, and possibly assemble 😁.

Monday

This is all of it, and it’s all been sanded, buffed, and assembled. I just need to photograph it all for the shop now 😊
It’s been the Clayathon of the Barrette for me this year. Blame my quarantine hair 💁🏻‍♀️ IG keeps crashing when I try to add multiple images, so I guess you will have to check my stories if you want to see what else I made 😁

Tuesday

I took another day off today. I needed some down time after three days of clayathoning 😁. I had a list of things I was going to accomplish today, and I did accomplish some of them. But not all. Oh well! Now I’m settling in for the evening, knitting one WIP, while keeping toasty under another 🙂

Thursday

There’s no such thing as a snow day in this work-from-home world ❄️

Friday

I knit a cabled turtleneck sweater for my hot water bottle, and now, when I carry it from room to room (to fill it up / empty it out, not just for the sake of carrying it around 😜) my weirdo husband makes comments about my “headless baby” 😂
