I’ve had a sore tooth for several weeks. I’d been hoping the pain would just go away on its own because I didn’t want to go to the dentist. I mean, for one thing, it’s the dentist and my reluctance should be self-explanatory, but more importantly, I haven’t been a fan of going indoors anywhere I don’t need to be while this pandemic rages. I’d hoped to put off any medical issues, in particular, until we all had a well-tested and reliable vaccine 😜
Anyway, the pain didn’t go away. It got a lot worse in fact. So I saw the dentist on Monday, and he referred me to an oral surgeon, who removed the offending beast on Thursday.
It’s been a week of pain and discomfort, and precious little photography fun. So, the photos are a bit light this week. I expect to be back to my usual happy snapping self next week, so stay tuned for that!
P.S. I couldn’t help thinking, as I sat there all numbed up, while the oral surgeon struggled to make that tooth release its grip (pressure, cracking, drilling, tugging…) how thankful I am for modern dentistry and pain management. I can’t even imagine how people coped with this situation 100 years ago!
It’s a roundup of the microblogging I’ve done on Flickr and Instagram all week. This includes photos I shot for Project 365 and any other extra images I may have posted.
I was thinking of you during the Clayathon meeting. I hope you are on the mend. I have had plenty of dental drama in my life. We are fortunate to have access to good dental care. Not everyone does.
It was just a follow-up. All is healing well. And yes, as much as I dislike going to the dentist, I am so glad to have the option! See you at the next meeting 🙂
