I’ve had a sore tooth for several weeks. I’d been hoping the pain would just go away on its own because I didn’t want to go to the dentist. I mean, for one thing, it’s the dentist and my reluctance should be self-explanatory, but more importantly, I haven’t been a fan of going indoors anywhere I don’t need to be while this pandemic rages. I’d hoped to put off any medical issues, in particular, until we all had a well-tested and reliable vaccine 😜
Anyway, the pain didn’t go away. It got a lot worse in fact. So I saw the dentist on Monday, and he referred me to an oral surgeon, who removed the offending beast on Thursday.
It’s been a week of pain and discomfort, and precious little photography fun. So, the photos are a bit light this week. I expect to be back to my usual happy snapping self next week, so stay tuned for that!
P.S. I couldn’t help thinking, as I sat there all numbed up, while the oral surgeon struggled to make that tooth release its grip (pressure, cracking, drilling, tugging…) how thankful I am for modern dentistry and pain management. I can’t even imagine how people coped with this situation 100 years ago!
So, what is This Week in Pictures?
It’s a roundup of the microblogging I’ve done on Flickr and Instagram all week. This includes photos I shot for Project 365 and any other extra images I may have posted.
Photos taken with 📷 (Canon EOS 80D) or 📱 (Samsung Galaxy S9).
Ready? Cast your mind back to Saturday last week…
Saturday

Brought the car for an oil change, and the 17yo and I sat outside to wait for it. These days, we’re not big fans of hanging out inside in enclosed spaces, even when we’re the only ones there.
Sunday

Now that I have a new (old) instant camera to play with, I’m revisiting this book over breakfast.

Monday

I was just about to turn on the TV, but that would ruin the pretty pink sunset glow this room has got going on right now.
Tuesday

When your pills match your pajamas.
Wednesday

A few of the neighborhood trees got the memo that it’s September now.
Thursday

Just chilling in the oral surgeon’s office, waiting to have one wisdom tooth and one demon tooth from hell removed.
Friday

Post dental work, I am hesitant to eat anything pointy or crunchy for a while. Lunch today is a Greek yogurt popsicle: triple peanut butter, my favorite!
Thanks for taking a peek at this week’s photos! If you want to see this stuff as it happens, please feel free to follow me on Flickr or Instagram ♥
I was thinking of you during the Clayathon meeting. I hope you are on the mend. I have had plenty of dental drama in my life. We are fortunate to have access to good dental care. Not everyone does.
It was just a follow-up. All is healing well. And yes, as much as I dislike going to the dentist, I am so glad to have the option! See you at the next meeting 🙂
