TWiP: PJ’s, Coffee, and Cooling Off

This Week in Pictures, Week 30, 2020

I promise you I actually got dressed this week, despite how it may look from my photos.

So, what is This Week in Pictures?

It’s a roundup of the microblogging I’ve done on Flickr and Instagram all week. This includes photos I shot for Project 365 and any other extra images I may have posted.

Photos taken with 📷 (Canon EOS 80D) or 📱 (Samsung Galaxy S9).

Ready? Cast your mind back to Saturday last week…

Saturday

Is there anything more wonderful than a Saturday morning, with an entire weekend full of endless possibilities stretched tantalizingly before you?

Oops, dropped a stitch! Glad I saw this now, before I bound off 🙂

Sunday

Here’s a sanity check for you: if you are sewing your first pair of #pdcfancypants and have just finished sewing the legs together, but you haven’t hemmed them or made the elastic casing yet, and you hold them up and think, “this can’t be right, these things are HUGE!” … we’ll, that’s ok. Because it *is* right, and everything will be solved with hemming and elastic. 😁

It’d too hot to be sewing, but I did it anyway, because the urge to have new pj pants was stronger than the urge to keep from sweating too much.

This is the temperature INSIDE the house in this window. I really can’t wait until the air conditioner is fixed.

Tuesday

I’m so happy to wake up to a pleasant breezy morning, after the last few brutal days. It’s still going to be far too hot this afternoon, but right now, it’s so nice to kick the day off with coffee on the front steps in my new wide-leg lounge pants! 🍩

This fun fabric is Donuts in Light Pink by @erinannedesigns, (1.5 yards of 56″ poplin from @hawthornesupplyco, was just enough to make these, plus have a nice strip left over for 5 masks)
The pattern is my own #pdcfancypants and the mug is one of my own #pdcmugs (there’s a polymer clay design – “pink jubilee” – on the outside). Both the pattern and the mug can be found through the link in my bio!

It hadn’t gotten a chance to get too, too hot yet this morning, so a front-step photo shoot with my new pajama pants was not out of the question.

Wednesday

A quick trip after work to borrow a small air conditioner from my sister, and back in time to kick back in my new PJs with a cup of coffee and wait for the room to cool off.

Thursday

Yesterday when I was borrowing my sister’s A/C, Neil was off borrowing his sister’s A/C. So now we have a little unit in the bedroom and a big powerful one in the dining room. And today has been an exercise in climate management. Mostly, I’ve just hung out in my bedroom/office working my 9-5 job, but Neil has been positioning fans around the house in an effort to blow the cooler air into the warmer corners. It’s comical, really.

Friday

An hour or two in the morning while the air is still cool, and the surprisingly effective cute little fans blow it gently into my work space.
