TWiP: Red Sweater

This Week in Pictures, Week 39, 2019

So, what is This Week in Pictures?

It’s a roundup of the microblogging I’ve done on Flickr and Instagram all week. This includes photos I shot for Project 365 and any other extra images I may have posted.

Photos taken with 📷 (Canon EOS 80D) or 📱 (Samsung Galaxy S7).

Ready? Cast your mind back to this time last week…

Saturday

I never bake anymore, but that changes this afternoon. As you can see, this book is much-loved. Every marked recipe is one that I have tried in the 18 years that I’ve owned this book.
Oh! it’s been so long… I hope my bread machine still works 😜
If you’re curious about the book, I put the link in my profile. Highly recommended 👍

I pulled out my bread machine for the first time in a long, long time. I used to love baking bread every couple of days! This loaf tasted fine, but didn’t rise much for some reason.

Story for Saturday

Sunday

This is what Sunday morning looks like this week. Breakfast, Roku, and the last few inches of this sweater’s collar.

Monday

Sometimes as part of my Day Job, I get to take pictures and post them on social media. Much like what I do when I’m NOT at work 🙂

It’s done!! Squeeeee!
Unfortunately, it is 90°F today and I can’t even bear to look at this pile of wool right now, let alone try it on for a photo shoot.
I’m melting 🔥

Just when I thought my grandmother’s button jar had no more sweater quantities to give, out pop eight wooden toggles, perfect for this project.

Wednesday

50°F this morning, so it’s photo shoot time!
This is the Travelers End cardigan by Carol Feller, in Donegal Wool Spinning Company by Studio Donegal in color 3659.
This is my souvenir from my trip to Ireland this summer, made with Irish wool and a pattern by an Irish designer. I forgot to buy Irish buttons while I was there, but I found these wooden toggles in my Granny’s button jar, and that is special, too.
There are a few fit challenges I’m dealing with, but I don’t think they’ll pose an insurmountable problem or anything. The sweater grew a bit with blocking, despite my best efforts, but I still am so happy with it 😍
Can’t wait to wear it to Rhinebeck! 🐑

One of these days, when I pose for show-and-tell photos, I am going to have to remember to check that the sweater is not crooked, and make sure none of the buttons have popped open. That day is not today! And I don’t care enough to re-shoot 🙂 Less-than-perfect photos aside, I am pretty happy with this sweater!

Thursday

Now that the sweater is done, I’m onto a hat for the firstborn, who is actually letting me knit him something for once 🙂

Friday

Though it is a technically un-terrific photo, I felt the need to document all four of us being in the same room at the same time, because I can’t remember the last time that happened…
