TWiP: Flowers and Food

This Week in Pictures, Week 21, 2019

This week, like so many 21st-weeks-of-the-year before it, included my birthday, celebratory food, and pretty pink peonies.

So, what is This Week in Pictures?

It’s a roundup of the microblogging I’ve done on Flickr and Instagram all week. This includes photos I shot for Project 365 and any other extra images I may have posted.

Photos taken with 📷 (Canon EOS 80D) or 📱 (Samsung Galaxy S7).

Ready? Cast your mind back to this time last week…

Saturday

Saturday morning coffee and reading in bed is the best! The only problem is that now I am so full of ideas that I may have to scrap all of the cleaning I was going to do today and spend a few hours at the clay table instead 😁

My parents were coming over and I was making hot dogs, but my frying pan was a mess. So I ran to Home Goods and bought a new one. And yes, OF COURSE I chose it for it’s beautiful color. What other important criteria could there possibly be?

Yesterday during my parents’ visit, the topic of this Blooming Coaster came up, and I mentioned that it was pretty dumb of me to crochet a white mandala to catch coffee drips. I keep having to wash it. I was thinking of making a new one in brown, but my mother (I think it was her) suggested soaking this one in coffee to dye it. Brilliant. So, I’m just leaving it in there this morning until I decide I need the coffee pot for a new cup.

I did get a chance to sit down at the clay table last night, and this is what came out. I like them a lot, and as soon as I can, I will do a shop update 💟 [UPDATE: They’re here!]

Where I work, when it’s your birthday, you are encouraged to bring in a special treat for the team.. Today I brought in bagels. Mmmmmm.

Hello, 48! It’s a good year so far: I had a delicious bagel for breakfast, and in what can only be described as a birthday miracle, you can’t see any of my gray hair in this light 🤣

Today’s lunch hour activity: Sitting in the car, listening to Indigo GIrls, singing along quietly, and absorbing my daily dose of VItamin D through my feet.

I woke up this morning and decided it was a good day to stay home from work. So, I did. I brewed some front-step coffee, clipped a peony from the front garden, bought a long-needed Summer quilt for the bed, used a birthday gift certificate from my son to get a pedicure, watched a movie on Britbox, took an afternoon nap next to an open window, and spent some time just staring into space and thinking. What a great day it’s been, and there are still a few hours left to enjoy before bed time!
