TWiP: Snowed In

This week’s big news around here was the arrival of the second Nor’easter in the space of a week. Those in my neighborhood who’d lost power from the first storm were just getting it back when the second storm came through. Trees are down all over town, along with power lines. We’ve been lucky in this house, probably due in no small part to the fact that previous storms have already claimed most of the trees that could potentially cause us trouble.

So, aside from a few off-and-on episodes, our power has stayed put. Our biggest challenge has been snow removal, but that was finally dealt with once and for all yesterday afternoon. I was able to work from home for 2.5 days, which is both a blessing and a curse.

While I love working in a cozy, familiar area, I am not alone at home. And by the third day, things start to drive me crazy:

  • the fact that I can’t make coffee (because the smell makes Neil gag)
  • the fact that I want to drop everything and hang out with my kids when I hear them laughing in the living room
  • the fact that cozy spots are not entirely comfortable spots after several hours
  • the fact that my technology setup works for most things, but is not ideal (or downright non-functional) for others

I’ve always been a home body, but when I am literally trapped there, I get a bit crazy. Our driveway was plowed in the early afternoon, and I was in the car, escaping like a bat out of hell not long after that.

Ok, I’m exaggerating a little. But really, just a little.

So, what is This Week in Pictures?

It’s a roundup of the microblogging I’ve done on Instagram all week. This includes photos I shot for Project 365 (the theme for 2018 is mornings: #myyearofmornings2018) and any other extra images I may have posted.

  1. Your snow looks even more beautiful than the pictures on tv. How pretty watching it fall. I kept my 11 yr old grandson 2 days this week who was having tummy trouble and we watched weather channel a lot. Glad to hear you all are making it ok.

    1. I have to agree with you – the snow is beautiful, when it’s fresh and new, and you have nowhere to go. Though it loses it’s charm on Day 3 of being stuck in the house, LOL! Hope your grandson is feeling better!
