I finished knitting this sweater a few weeks ago, but it’s been so hot and humid lately that I haven’t wanted to put it on long enough to properly photograph it.
I did slip it on once really quickly right after it was finished, and that’s when I discovered that it was crazy HUGE on me:
I used a machine-washable yarn (Berroco Weekend), and while normally it would cause me no end of angst to throw a newly-knit garment in the laundry, I went ahead and did it. For one thing, the time in the washing machine would be good for nicely evening-out my stitches. And for another, even if it shrunk six inches, it would still be wearable.
As it turns out, the stitches look beautifully evened out, and the diamond pattern next to the cable is much better defined. I think it did shrink a bit, too, although not so much that it isn’t still very very roomy.
Luckily, I like it roomy.
And this color? It goes with nearly everything I own 😜

Beautiful detail! I love the color too.
Nicely done. I love the design elements and the color.
It’s a pretty sweater, and well done, but it is just too big. I’m afraid that you won’t wear it.
I probably won’t wear it every day, but it’s the perfect cozy sweater for bumming around the house. I think it will get a lot of use in that capacity ☺
