TWiP: Twinkly Lights

This Week in Pictures

Hi there! I was so busy last week (busy getting ready to party, busy partying, and busy catching my breath post-parties) that I’m a day late with This Week in Pictures. It’s really more of a Last Week in Pictures now, but LWiP is not as easy to pronounce.

Christmas lasts three days for us, and on each of those days is a different get-together. I always enjoy the festivities quite a bit, but that much socialization leaves introverted me craving some time to hibernate in my comfiest lounge pants and play with my new toys after it’s all over. That’s what the week between Christmas and New Years has been for me in recent years, and who am I to buck tradition this time around?

This would explain why I’m posting 27 hours behind schedule 🙂

Schedule-schmedule, I say!

Well, ok, that’s not entirely true. It has kind of bothered me being a day late with this. I spent much of my leisure time yesterday processing photos from the week so that I could have them ready to post, but I gave up when I realized it was 10pm. I hate going straight from computer to bed. I always need some buffer time! So, I can blow off my posting schedule, but only reluctantly.

Anyway, enough boring talk about schedules. How about we get on with with this show?

So, what is This Week in Pictures?

It’s a roundup of the photos I shot for my Project 365, plus some everyday-life images I posted on Instagram during the previous week. (FYI, my daily photo project this year has changing monthly themes. December’s theme is “Merry,” wherein I will try to find something cheerful and festive even when I feel entirely too busy and/or crabby [which, incidentally, is exactly when it will do me the most good].)

Ready? Cast your mind back to this time last week…

Saturday

365: Merry 20/31 – No, I *still* don’t have my tree up. Luckily my brother-in-law and sister-in-law are not the slackers that we are, and so I can take a picture of *their* tree today 🙂

Sunday

365: Merry 21/31 – When Christmas lights are out of focus, they look like hundred tiny venn diagrams.

Monday

365: Merry 22/31 – I turned on the tree at 6:30am, and it’ll be on until I go to bed. <3

Tuesday

365: Merry 23/31 – Starting my gift wrapping with 36 hours to go. That may sound like I’m cutting it close, but I’m actually ahead of my usual schedule 😉

Wednesday

365: Merry 24/31 – Spending Christmas Eve at my brother’s house 🙂

Thursday

365: Merry 25/31 – The stockings were hung by the chimney with care…

Friday

365: Merry 26/31 – My mother has an impressive collection of snowmen.

Thanks for taking a peek at this week’s photos! If you want to see this stuff as it happens, please feel free to follow me on Flickr.

I may already have plans to blog about some of these things in greater detail over the coming week, but be sure to leave a comment if there’s something in particular you want to know about!
